It’s summer, time for fun in the sun with your kids or your friends… and there are so many great ways to celebrate summer, enough to keep you happy during even the coldest, most miserable winter. But fun can strike anywhere, at any time, so it’s good to be prepared! Here’s my list of 7 things to take with you (everywhere!) for summer fun…

What better way to preserve the memories of your incredibly fun summer than with photos? Be sure to bring your camera with you to all of the beach parties, BBQs, and bonfires… then share all the photos on Facebook, so everyone can enjoy them…

Who wants to ruin their summer fun with a nasty, painful sunburn? Grab a couple of bottles or sticks of sun screen, and be sure to sue them. Re-apply often, especially if you’re swimming or sweating.
Kids of all ages love blowing bubbles, and it’s a great way to liven up an otherwise dull event. They can be messy, so make sure to keep the bottles in a plastic baggie, or you risk a sticky tote bag!
And don’t forget your cell phone, so you can your friends and family can be in touch all summer long. It also serves as a camera if you forget your digital camera, and can make a good calendar too!

Every special summer event needs a soundtrack, so be sure to bring your iPod, loaded with fun music, and some portable speakers, so everyone can hear it, too! And also make sure to keep your iPod charged… it’s awful when your iPod dies in the middle of a party!
Like bubbles, squirt guns are a great way to add fun to an event that’s not going so well. Equip everyone with a little plastic squirter, count to three, and have at it! Make sure to keep the fun outdoors, though…
Make sidewalk art, play hopscotch, or make super-fun background for your photos with bright sidewalk chalk! Keep the bucket in your backseat or trunk, and break it out whenever you feel a little artistic and creative. Fun! And it washes away in the next rain… or water gun fight!
Stash all of these in a tote and make sure to grab it before you go anywhere that fun might happen! Which of these items do you keep on hand for summer fun? Or do you have something else I left off my list? Please let me know!
