While I’m not an advocate of Agent Provocateur on a daily basis, every now and then cotton briefs get a little boring. Sexy knickers and balconet boosting bras are so much fun, girls, not to mention gorgeous to look at. And only we can do them justice; somehow, lingerie just doesn’t look right with added chest hair!

Heels

Manolo, Jimmy Choo, Laboutin … where would we be without our trinity of favourite footmen? Slimming, sexy and seriously hot, fantastic heels are one of the major perks of being a girl. Imagine if all we could put on our feet were sneakers and brogues! Quelle horreur!

Make up

I’m not a fan of heavy make up ladies, but I do acknowledge that there are days when I literally couldn’t leave the house without it. While we can cover up zits and dark circles, and perk up sleepy eyes with liner and mascara, boys just have to deal. I know, right; sucks to be them?

Handbags

I don’t care what anyone says, man-bags aren’t hot. A satchel or messenger bag is okay, and so, obviously, is a briefcase. But those little totes in manly colours and fabrics, carried over the shoulder and filled with manly accessories? No, ladies; not cool. Only we can get away with proper handbags, and, like high heels, this is a real perk. They’re pretty, they’re practical and they let us carry our lives around with us; what’s not to love about that, girls?

Earrings

I’m talking big, statement chandeliers here ladies. The kind that totally finish off that fabulous outfit and make your neck look uber-long and elegant. Fantastic earrings are something that only girls get right, and they’re one of those little indulgences that make it great to be us!

Boys with big, poker straight fringes just look ridiculous and sadly, this is a look we’re seeing more and more of as time goes by. We, on the other had, can absolutely rock it. Whether we’re going for short, textured layers or long flowing locks, ladies, the straightener is our friend.

I’m not suggesting we all dress in sparkles and feather boas all the time, but every now and again, a little kitsch in your life isn’t such a bad thing. We can have giant rabbit slippers and wear Disney pyjamas if we want to, but a guy might have trouble indulging the same urge.

Quite honestly, I don't mind being addressed as a girl or a lady. I didn't even notice the author used these words waaay too often until it was pointed out and I suspect neither did she. What's the big deal? Anyhow, I loved this femininity-celebratory post!

Rebecca, you have some good things to share with us but I really do wish you didn't keep reaffirming that you are addressing women. All your posts are flooded with comments addressing us as ladies, girls etc. It's nice to be acknowledged but it really is overkill and for me personally that's all I ever remember about your posts and certainly not what the subject was.
