I have to admit, the first time I joined Facebook, and I found myself tapping into it constantly. It’s as if I was going to miss something important if I didn’t log in and see what was going on or who was posting new information. I don’t think I was to the point of being addicted to Facebook, but that’s just my opinion! If you feel you’ve become absorbed in the going-ons of FB, then take a look at the following list. Here are 7 ways to get over your Facebook addiction. I hope you find something that helps.

7. Sign up on a Different Site
Maybe you need a change of pace to take your mind off of Facebook. Sign up for a writing site or one that goes along with a particular hobby you enjoy, such as gardening or woodworking. Some people don’t have any other sites they go to, which might be the cause for an addiction to start with Facebook.
6. Get a Friend to Help
Call up a trusted friend when you feel like chatting, instead of getting on Facebook. I know it’s a lot easier to connect with tons of friends all at once on FB. But, if you are trying to refrain from spending so much time on there, then you might try using the phone to get in contact with one of your dear friends instead.
5. Delete Your Account
This is a rather extreme one and might be hard for the true Facebook addict to go through with. Sure, you can always form a new account again, but you might be more inclined to stay away from Facebook for a while if you don’t have an account to quickly log into.
4. Make a List of Other Things You Can do besides Log on to Facebook
Just to get you started, how about these: read a book, go for a walk, play fetch with the dog, wash the car, look at the stars, play with your kids, work in the garden, brush the cat, try a new recipe, take up knitting, or enjoy a bubble bath. There are tons of things you can do besides go to Facebook.
Sunshine and blue skies bring positivity and joy and it's important for every woman to take full advantage of it. Even when stuck indoors, it's still possible to enjoy some good vibes. 3. Set a Timer
I’ve found myself blindly clicking away on the same pages over and over again without realizing what I was doing. If you limit the amount of time you are ‘allowed’ to spend on FB, then maybe you’ll be less inclined to sit there and stare at the screen for hours on end. I know those games can really suck you in too! Put a time limit on those as well.

2. Slowly Wean Yourself from Logging on in the First Place
When you have the urge to log onto Facebook, take a moment and find something else to do first. See if you can lengthen the amount of time you spend away from FB. Eventually you might be able to go more than an hour without logging in!
1. Take up a Hobby outside the House
Facebook can take up a lot of time, which is one way to keep boredom at bay. Why not get a hobby that takes you out of the house, such as quilting, painting, or gardening? Take a class at a nearby college. There might be one on photography and you’ll be able to meet other people interested in photography as well. Hopefully these new friends don’t suggest that you should keep in touch via Facebook.
I hope these 7 ways to get over your Facebook addiction will be useful ones for you. Have you recently dealt with an addiction to Facebook or any other website? What did you do?
