Today's shows as seen on Style com brought us the minimal and the overdone but mainly most of the former. Betsy Johnson was suprisingly restrained compared to her usual stripper chic and Doo.Ri, Behnaz Sarafour and Narcisco Rodriquez all created very simple and concise looks. Bill Blass went so far back into the archive that it looked they had exhumed Mr. Blass to do the design work. Chaiken did a show built arond one eccentric woman that seemed a bit like an haute couture version of the J. Peterman catalog. Monique Lhuillier took a step away from her bridal and red carpet looks and delivered a show that relied far less on the pretty. If minimal isn't your thing then Rodarte is your antidote, the intricate designs created by the Mulleavy sisters are always impressive. Their show and the Chaiken show are my pics of the day.
