If the New York/London/Milan and Paris fashion shows weren't enough for you, then you are in for a treat. This Spring the V&A are putting on a new exhibit - New York Fashion Now. The exhibit will feature the designs and accessories from 20 of New York's new generation of talent, including Duckie Brown, Cloak, Derek Lam(pictured), Zac Posen, Proenza Schouler and Behnaz Sarafpour to name just a few.
The exhibition will focus on the years 1999 - 2004, and celebrate the emergence, talent, and innovation of these designers in a city where branded fashion empires have historically dominated.
It will cover five themes; Sportswear Chic, Atelier, Avant-Garde, Menswear and of course, Celebrity. By showing such a wide range of designers and fashion, Sonnet Stanfill, curator of the exhibition explained "this display will demonstrate the talent and diversity of the New York fashion scene now."
With all the great fashion exhibits at the V&A recently, I feel like I might as well set up camp there. New York Fashion Now will run from 17th April - 2 September 2007, and the best part is that entry will be free, free, free!
