Late last week, there was a flurry of rumors about Madonna **and her screenwriter/director husband **Guy Ritchie getting a divorce. It all started when the 49-year-old singer **was seen without her **wedding ring as she was driven through New York.
However, the rumormongers were left hanging again about the supposed impending divorce **when **Guy Ritchie flew to New York on Monday.
To set the records straight, Madonna’s publicist Liz Rosenberg said that the couple is not divorcing.
She tells People.com, "Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage, which does not need saving). There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce."
Rosenberg also dismissed reports Madonna is having a secret fling with New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
She adds, "Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There's really not anything to comment on beyond that."

Madonna and Guy were married at the Skibo Castle in Scotland on December 22, 2000. They have a son, Rocco **who was born on the same year that they were married -and they also adopted a Malawian baby boy named **David Banda.
Madonna already has an 11-year-old daughter Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leone prior to her marriage with Guy.
I do hope that the divorce rumors remain just that -**rumors**. After all, this powerful couple has been together for nearly 8 years now and it would be a shame to see their **marriage **fall apart just like that.
