I'm so Ready for Spring ...

I'm sooo ready for Spring.

Just think.

Bronzer
Strappy sandles
Cute little tops
Pinky blush
Glowy lips.

I'm sooo ready.

Here in NY it was a wonderful 75 degrees the other day, which quickly got to 65 and rainy.... sigh. So short. But it got me to thinking.

Just what is needed to welcome spring time?

Well, Style.com posted their
Best Beauty Buys of 2006.

Products I can't wait to try?

Blistex Lip Infusion SPF 15
"Made with squalene, jojoba oil and aloe, this rich formula offers long-lasting moisture without a waxy feeling."

"The ultimate low-maintenance nail tool, this translucent alternative to polish gives nails a healthy-looking, buffed shine in just one coat. Enriched with pro-vitamin B5 and vitamin E, it’s odorless, dries instantly, and fades away gradually without requiring any polish remover."

Genius!

And Thrifty Chick just posted PART I of hertop Spring Must Haves to be hip and fabulous this Spring.

So let's see, I gotta get a:
Fabulous Belt
Anthing in Brocade fabric
A Kimono influenced top........

And don't forget Beauty Addict's fantastic posts on the great and sometimes not so great makeup from the Spring Runway Collections for inspiration and ideas.

And for Spring Makeup 2006?
It's all about pink.

If you have something pink on your face for spring, you've got the biggest trend going right now.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of pink. I immediately think of Barbie Doll makeup, and believe me, I don't think any woman wants to look like that.

But if you go for the pinks with a touch of warmth to it, a bit of brown, beige or yellow added, (not gray, blue or purple) your skin will be young and glowy looking, not pale and deadly. Which is what most of the spring runways were showing. A deadly pale lavendar, lilac, pink concoction that looks like the kiss of death. If a model can't pull it off, neither can you.

So what to do?

Think warm sunny pink. Pink with peach added, or brown, or tan or yellow. A warm sunny pink. And apply to only one feature of the face.

For Eyes (yes, there's pink eyeshadow all the rage, just look at MAC'S COSMETICS latest collection.)

A warm dusty pink is fine, but think pastels. Dusted over the eyelid, with a touch of shimmer on the brow bone is beautiful. Think soft, romantic. Add mascara on top lashes, a touch of dark plum eyeliner on top only and you're the belle of the ball.

Or Blush: But it's matte. Matte blush is huge now.
Applied to the apples of the cheeks is still big.

Want to update your look a bit?

Add Bronzer to the sides of your forehead, near your temples, and under the cheekbones. Think of a soft contouring. Add a touch of pink on the lips, or the eyes and you've just modernized your look. Pink and bronzer together is the newest way to wear both. And yes, the hottest bronzer right now is matte.

Lips
Well, think either glossy shimmery pink lips.

Or the newest, is perfectly matte pink lips.

Yep, matte lips are back.

But don't worry about looking too matte.
Just pair it with a shimmery eye, or a touch of shimmer on the cheekbones.

And last but not least.

You just gotta celebrate the beginning of Spring with:

A Cupcake

Sprinkles Cupcakes

P.S.

I'm in the process of 'cleaning house' so to speak. I'm working on categorizing our over 300 posts so you can easily find products reviews, info etc. on the side of our blog. A lot of cut-n-paste going on! Since Blogger doesn't let you categorize your posts, I have to go through each one and link. In the meantime, just search in the "blogger" search bar on the top of our blog and select 'search this blog' to find what your're looking for.
