Happy 2012, stalkers! I want y'all to be thinking of some of your favorite (and least favorite) New Year's resolutions, because that's coming up soon. For now, however, I just had to ride with a trend that is near and dear to my heart -- and I have a feeling that a lot of you will like it, too. It's no surprise that, with the coming of a new year, nostalgia sets in quick. It might officially be 2012, but around the interweb, specifically the Twitterverse, everyone's all the way back in the 1990s. As the year dawns new, bright, and shiny, everyone's sounding off about their favorite #90sSayings, and I have to tell you, there are some serious gems floating around out there.
Full House began in 1987, but in 1990, Stephanie Tanner was still regaling (well, annoying might be a better word) audiences with her infamous "How rude!" catchphrase, having not yet been usurped by Michelle Tanner's cuter (and ultimately more annoying) "You got it, dude!" As a child of the decade, I'm ashamed to remember that, at the time, "How rude!" was my favorite 90s saying, and I went around saying it an obnoxious amount of the time.
Here are some other much-loved #90sSayings:
NOW_MIA: “#90ssayings What's the dillio?”
CuteGDIProblems: “Boys go to Jupiter to get more stupider. Girls go to college to get more knowledge. #90ssayings”
9BMC_ordie: “#90ssayings 'U.G.L.Y. You don't have no alibi. You ugly.'”
THUNDERUPSWAG: “#90ssayings you all up in the kool-aid and don't know the flavor!”
Deeplove: “'Who loves orange soda?! Kelll loves orange soda! Is it true? Mhmmmm! I do, I do, I do-o!' #90sSayings”
itsWillyFerrell: “#90ssayings: Nothing was more satisfying than high-fiving someone who was trying to give you the 'Talk To The Hand' gesture.”
I have to say that, of all those, I'm down with the faux Will Ferrell's -- especially when my brother-in-law to-be decides to phone in with an hour-long lecture about the imminent end of the world.
But what about y'all? Are you an All-That kid, a Clueless connoisseur, or a Fresh Prince fanatic? Let us know some of your favorite #90sSayings -- or songs, films, characters, and books!
