Hats on to Marc Jacobs' Color amp Shape ...

Marc Jacobs’ collection for Fall 2007 is very different from recent seasons. There is no grunge, no odd voluminousness. Ensembles and pieces are tailored, smart, and comprised of bold, travelers’ colours winding down to reds, greys then blacks with small accent bits of shade.

Unfortunately this means there is no modern-fairytale lady/princess poof. That romantic elegance that Marc promised for adoring ladies. Classic is still prominent, but are his classics? Daydream curves have given way to stern lines. Even the romantic, flowy evening and party wear have futuristic boldness. Good, but different. With this collection, certainly, MJ has matured.

I do love the collection; another Fall fave. And I prefer the pieces over recent monsters. It just seems like not my old love; Marc Jacobs, even so, I may prefer it. It’s something to get used to, although it still holds love, we do need to make peace. But will it last for us to acquaint, memorize, and sigh with heavenly fever? Knowing what I do about Marc Jacobs’ work efforts, I doubt it. I believe this should send us into crazies pondering what’s next for Spring 2008! Never boring - is Marc Jacobs.

Oh, by the way, lots of ladylike, fabulista wide-brimmed hats. Kudos on the fabu accessory! It’s so true, this collection is the mother of past.
