Expensive Designer Jeans Are Costing Even More ...

Do you think designer jeans are too expensive at $200 a pair? You might be right. The average price that people in America spend on jeans is under $30 (meaning that half of all jeans are cheaper than that), and premium designer jeans constitute only a small share of the total denim market. However, according to today’s article in Forbes; "The World's Most Expensive Jeans", that market share is steadily increasing.

It seems that more and more people are willing to shell out big bucks for designer jeans that fit well, have unique characteristics, or help them identify better with their favorite Celebs. Check out the slide show of designer jeans that goes with the Forbes article here: These jeans are priced from $450 to well into the multi-thousands. (We won’t count the vintage Levi’s for $60,000). Are they worth it?

Well, if you like embellishment and exclusivity, I guess the answer’s yes. You can’t get much more exclusive.

That leaves me with just two questions:• Can you trust your drycleaner with those diamond buttons? • What do you do with all that glitzy hardware when the jean wears out? Can you recycle platinum rivets?

(OK, that’s three questions).
