Britney Spears fled the U.S for a seven-hour hotel love-in with her Brummie photographer boyfriend, after fearing her family were about to take drastic action to force her into emergency psychiatric care.
The troubled singer was desperate to leave Los Angeles after she was carted off to hospital tied to a stretcher last week, following a four-hour siege when she refused to hand over her two young sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
And it’s believed she is trying to escape her parents’ attempts to force her into rehab.
Spears and Ghalib, a photographer from Birmingham, arrived at the Rosarito Beach Hotel in Baja California at about 3pm US time on Wednesday.
The singer - wearing a pink wig - checked into a junior suite costing £110 a night.
But just before 10pm, she and Adnan, 35, checked out and headed back to her Beverly Hills home.
Spears, 26, went to extreme measures to make sure nobody knew where they were while in Mexico.
She leaked word that she was flying to New York, Hawaii, Las Vegas and Barbados and hired at least two private jets, teams of security and numerous limos to create the elaborate diversion.
Once in Mexico, she stocked up on fake designer gear, buying two fake Gucci handbags, while Ghalib bought religious memorabilia.
Back in LA they stopped off at Spears’ house before heading to Starbucks in Encino. Last night they were spotted dining at Taverna Tony in Malibu.
The singer had hit the road with her Brummie photographer boyfriend and surfaced in Mexico.
Britney was with Ghalib and at least one of his colleagues. Video of Britney and the photographer soon hit the internet and appeared to show the pair in Mexico.
One of Adnan’s paparazzi colleagues laughed: “All I’ll tell you is that you’ll never find us.”
But as her personal life continues to disintegrate, in strange twist, the dramatic events which occurred last week appear to have contributed to a boost in Britney’s musical fortunes.
Her new song ‘Piece of Me’ is set to rocket to number two in the UK charts when it comes out on Monday.
And music bible Rolling Stone is putting her on the cover of next month’s edition
