8 Shower Products Experiment Bank Breakers Vs. Penny Savers ...

Have you ever had that one cranky, elderly relative that tells you that you don't know the true meaning of a dollar? Well, I do have one of those, and this week I decided to try and prove him wrong. This week I bought shower products that broke the bank and their much cheaper penny-saving drug-store counterparts to see if the more expensive products were really worth it. You get to learn from my experience this week and save some of those hard earned dollars! Here is my 8 product shower experiment.

2 Grandpa's Old Fashioned Oatmeal Soap, for Face and Bath

Grandpa's Old Fashioned Oatmeal Soap, for Face and Bath Price: $3.39 at drugstore.com
Winner: Grandpa's Oatmeal Soap
Savings: $4.69
My 2 cents: I've been a fan of Grandpa's for quite some time now, but after using Pyrenees Lavender soap, I'm a bigger fan. I may have saved less than $5, but that's $5 I can use to buy another bar of the better soap! Grandpa's Oatmeal Soap just feels much better on the skin and you can really feel it exfoliate. The scent of Grandpa's Oatmeal soap is more pleasant as well.

3 Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Wash

4 Shikai Moisturizing Shower Gel for Dry Skin, Yuzu (Japanese Citrus)

Shikai Moisturizing Shower Gel for Dry Skin, Yuzu (Japanese Citrus) Price: $5.99 at drugstore.com
Winner: Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Wash
My 2 Cents: Shikai may only cost $5.99 but I'm half tempted to go and ask for my money back. It smelled horrible! It's well worth the other $12.01 to go splurge at Sephora. The Shikai is just a globby, stinky shower gel that no one really ever needs to use again.

5 The Art of Shaving Lavender Shaving Cream

The Art of Shaving Lavender Shaving Cream Price: $15 at sephora.com
vs.

6 Skintimate Moisturizing Soothing Lavender Shave Gel

Skintimate Moisturizing Soothing Lavender Shave Gel Price: $3.49 at drugstore.com
Winner: Skintimate
Savings: $11.51
My 2 Cents: For being the much cheaper, much less creamy shaving cream, Skintimate surprised me this week. For once, my poor legs that can't really take any type of irritation had a little break. Although I do recommend the Art of Shaving line, in a pinch, Skintimate is almost as good.

7 Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish

Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish Price: $38 at sephora.com

8 Archipelago Botanicals Brown Sugar and Vanilla Sugar Scrub for Body

Archipelago Botanicals Brown Sugar and Vanilla Sugar Scrub for Body Price: $29 at drugstore.com
Winner: Tie!
My 2 Cents: Archipelago and Fresh were locked in a battle all this week, I really cannot decide which one of these products win. Fresh smells a little better but Archipelago has bigger sugar crystals. For every point that one gets, the other has a counter point. I think that it's safe to say this one was a tie!

Well ladies, that is my product experiment! What did you think? Need any clarification? Have any questions? Do you have anything to add? Let me know!
