I realized a few weeks ago that it had been a really long time since I’d seen my eye doctor, so I made an appointment right away, and I’m so glad I did! Not only has my prescription changed, my eye doctor also caught an eye infection before it started! If you’re not sure whether or not you need to see your eye doctor, keep reading! This is my list of 7 reasons to see your eye doctor.

My eye doctor says it’s a great idea to have your eyes examined each year. She says that as we age, even as young people, our eyesight can change a lot in a short period of time… and she says your eye doctor can spot a lot of problems before they get noticeably bad, and that can even mean saving your eyesight!

If you have frequent headaches, you might need to see your eye doctor to see if they might be caused by eye strain, which can be caused when you don’t realize you need a better prescription, and keep wearing your old glasses and contacts.
If you think your vision might be a little blurry, then chances are, you need a new prescription! You may also have an eye health issue, so see your eye doctor right away!
If you have odd blind spots or floating water-looking spots, with or without migraines, it’s a good idea to visit your eye doctor to see what’s causing them. Aside from being an annoyance, they may be caused by an eye illness.
If your eyes hurt, or are overly dry, why deal with the pain and dryness any longer? A quick visit to the eye doctor might just help clear it up, and won’t it be nice to know for sure if there’s something wrong, something that might be easy to fix and make the pain go away?
Pink eye is the worst! If you think you have an eye infection, or have injured your eye, see your eye doctor (or at least your family doctor) right away! Eye infections are highly contagious, and some can do permanent damage.
