Do you live in or close to South Carolina? Are you looking for a new place to explore or visit? I lived in Greenville, South Carolina for 3 years. After moving, I have visited several times, and here is what I suggest you don’t want to miss. Isn’t it funny how people never know what they have until it’s gone?

1 Hilton Head

A visit to South Carolina just isn’t complete with a stop at this awesome island. Beautiful beaches, plenty of places to golf, and lovely resorts offer plenty to do. And don’t worry about going hungry. There are well over 200 restaurants to visit!

2 Coligny Beach

While on Hilton Head, be sure and visit the beach on the island, Coligny Beach. The best ocean swimming South Carolina has to offer! If you want to see dolphins, this is the place to be.

3 Edisto Island

Another Do not miss island off the coast of South Carolina is Edisto Island. A nice place to enjoy some alone time, there’s plenty of quiet time here. Of course, you can walk the beach, or visit from a kayak, but all the same you will leave refreshed and renewed.

4 Beaufort

This is one of the oldest cities established in South Carolina. Take a step back in time while you visit this city's Historical Landmark. Don’t miss the Chocolate Tree if you are a chocolate lover. This is a You-Better-Not-Miss treat. I promise!

5 Bluffton

Here is another great place to visit if you are a history buff. This place once boasted the wealthiest plantation owners of the south. Please stop by the Church of the Cross and take a tour. This church survived a battle during the Civil War. You’ll find plenty of historical reading and information here.

6 Ace Basin Rivers

Three rivers converge here at the basin and you will find it is the largest undeveloped wetlands area in the eastern United States. Boat tours are available as well as boat and canoe rentals. If you are looking for solitude and peace, this is a great place to visit.

Another don’t miss place if you are looking for nature at it’s best. Quiet walks await you on natural walking trails. Abundant wildlife, in their natural home, will thrill animal lovers and naturalists alike. You ay never want to leave this gorgeous area!
