7 Common Beauty Sins ...

It happens to all of us. Every girl I know is guilty sometimes. A lot of the guys I know are guilty as well. Of what, you ask? Of committing these 7 deadly sins of beauty, of course. I've broken several of the Beauty Commandments and I bet you have too. Let's see if you recognize yourself in any of these!

1 Too Much Tan

Whether it's self tanner, tanning bed, or straight sunlight, many girls and guys both are guilty of this skin – to the point where their skin carries an orange patina. If you tan in a tanning bed or out in the sun, this is really bad – although neither of those things gives you orange skin. So, since self tanners, spray tans, and things like that, are much healthier for your skin, just try to go easy and don't layer on too much!

2 Avoiding a Skincare Regimen

It is so important to take care of your skin – no matter how old you are. You are never too young, for example, to start using anti aging skin creams. In fact, it's better to start when you're younger, experts say, because not only does it become habit, it also works to make your skin more immune to signs of age. It will take longer for you to start developing fine lines and wrinkles – but you can still get all those smile lines that make you look like you, and show the warmth of your personality!

Oh, this one is so bad and I personally do it all the time. I did it last night, even though I know better. You should always wash off your makeup before you go to bed. It's really bad for your skin if you don't, and it's not uncommon for you to wake up with a bunch of blemishes.

4 Exfoliating Too Much

It's good to exfoliate your skin. It is bad to do it too much. You will irritate the heck out of your skin, leaving it red, blotchy, irritated, and sore. There's no need to do that. You don't have to scrub your skin to death to exfoliate it. In fact, it's better to use a good product and simply be gentle. Your skin will thank you.

5 Popping Pimples

I bet we've all been guilty of this one at least once, right? Popping pimples is such a bad habit. It's gross and it's horrible for your skin. You will leave yourself with pock marks and scars, and will likely get more zits anyway, because you're spreading around bacteria. Find a good facial cleaner instead, use it regularly, and soon you won't even have any zits to pop!

6 Moisturizing Too Much

There is such a thing as using too much moisturizer. What's worse than dry, flaky skin? Greasy looking, over moisturized skin. It makes it look like you haven't washed your face for ages, and who wants that? A little bit goes a long way, especially if your moisturizer is good.

7 Plucking Falsies

I have never done this, cannot imagine doing this because I am a crybaby, but apparently, oh yeah, people do commit this sin. They pluck out their false eyelashes! Ow! No! There are solvents for the glue!

I really need to get better about things like skincare and making sure I am makeup free when I go to bed. But come on, 'fess up. I told you, so you tell me – what beauty sins have you committed?
