4 VMA Posts That Sum up the Evening ...

So the VMAs was extra eventful this year. I'm sure you already know what I'm talking about. But let's start with the basics of every awards show. Firstly, there is the red carpet circus, er, interviews. Then we have the practiced poses, beautiful dresses, and strange antics on the red carpet as well. And just like every VMA, this year's opening performance was memorable and really touching. Then there were the moments of crass and class involving very interesting characters. Let's get on with it then.

1 Red Carpet Interviews

Red Carpet Interviews We can never really fathom the number of press people at the VMAs red carpet. To give us a little glimpse, we have a College Candy writer to thank. If you want to know who were the sweetest and nicest celebs, check out this post. And of course, if you want to know which stars were not so nice, this post is a gem of information as well.

Frequently asked questions

2 Red Carpet Fashion

Shakira and Pink wore the same Balmian strapless dress. That spells awkward, right? But luckily, the girls were great sports. They even posed for photos together. As for the rest of the ladies, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Leighton Meester, and Ashley Greene were among the best-dressed. But if you're looking for a bit of wackiness, Jack Black and Lady Gaga got it covered.

3 Performances: a Tribute (plus Blood and Bling and Acrobatics)

The VMAs is truly a great show for great live performances. Aside from the touching tribute to the King of Pop, my favorite this year was Pink's performance. Can you imagine how hard it is to sing live while hanging upside down? She is an amazing singer. And now it has become one of my lifelong dreams to watch her live on concert. As for Beyonce, she did what she does best: shake her booties and hair and make you wish that you can sing as well as she does.

4 The Dramz

I was hesitant to mention this because I am very sure that Kanye does not deserve more publicity than he has already received because of what he did. I am actually commending the NY Post PopWrap for their decision not to write anything about Kanye for a whole year. Because he is just a big of an (insert appropriate adjective here). What he did to Taylor was unforgivable, even though he apologized. Thankfully, Beyonce saved the night and Taylor Swiftremained a sweet girl and took everything in stride.

In a non-VMA related news, RIP Patrick Swayze.
