I know, I know, it’s another “Week”. They must have run out of weeks by now, but not before this - coming to a calendar near you is Work Wise Week. It is being run by Work Wise UK, a non-profit organisation that strives to encourage smarter working practices. The week will include the Work Wise Annual Summit (Wednesday 16th May) and, wait for it, National Work From Home Day. Now apart from Composting Week, which I blogged on a little while ago, this has to be up there with them. Ok, it’s not a catchy title, but it could make an eco-difference. According to Work Wise 3.1 million of us already use our home as our work base. That’s 11 per cent of the total workforce. Work Wise UK believes that this can be extended to 50 per cent of the workforce within five years. Now this would make a national dent in our carbon-guzzling footprint. So come on people, tell your bosses your going nowhere, just for a day.
