Work Exercise

According to Sharon Hame, MD, associate clinical professor at UCLA’s department of orthopaedic surgery, people who work in front of computers for hours everyday are in serious health problems. Carpal tunnel, the pains that go up to the elbow and shoulder and translate to the neck and back are the problems that one might encounter from sitting still. Here are some of the stretching exercises to help you ward off pain and stiffness, and boost energy and alertness. Substitute sitting for exercise while you work by using an exercise ball. It helps you use all your muscles in the back, legs, neck and butt to stay in balance. If you want a more challenging work exercise, try standing up and sitting down without using your hands. You can do this while you are on the phone, so it won’t look awkward.
