Watching and Waiting

by Jazzmin Williams

Watching, wishing, remaining and drifting
Into to something so right and genuinely uplifting.
Lost, wounded and torn I knelt before you.
My heart damaged with years of sorrow and fear.
My eyes glazed over holding back tears.
Of lost hopes, dreams, relationships and faith.
Yearning to know you and walk in your ways.

Please I beg, “Be there for me.”
Gasping for air just feel you inside.
Needing and wanting just to confide.
The good; the bad and the Ugly… I hide.
On bended knee I come to you
Watching, wishing, remaining and drifting.
Into to something so right and genuinely uplifting.

…Yet always hearing…

(4)Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
(5)Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
Psalm 37: 4-5

I have placed aside many dreams, desires and ambition.
I trust in you and will follow your mission.
I strive for my ways to be your ways.
Never giving in to the status quo.
Always understanding, “what we reap we sow.”
Watching, wishing, remaining and drifting.
Into to something so right and genuinely uplifting
