1. Familiarise Yourself with Maleness
The old saying men are from Mars and women are from Venus might not be quite true, but there certainly are massive difference between the way a woman lives her life and the way a man lives his. If you have male friends around who arenโt interested in pursuing you, you are free to examine them in their natural environment and get to know all of the different quirks and rituals that guys tend to share! I think that's my favorite of the many reasons why women need men friends.
2. Sense of Humour
If you have a good group of mixed sex friends, then you are much more likely to be exposed to different kinds of humour than, for example, than if it were just a group of girls with similar interests and sensibilities. Itโs good to have an open mind when it comes to sense of humour, and the more accustomed you become with male humour, the more attuned to it you will be in your dating life!
3. Problem Solvers
Sometimes, there are just problems in a dating situation that your trusty group of girls cannot seem to answer. Itโs in these times of need that it is always great to turn to a guy who might be able to give you some inside info on the other side of the equation. Itโs like having your very own spy on the other side! Sometimes guy friends can come up with solutions and answers that your girlfriends could never have thought of.
4. Secret Keepers
Believe it or not, guy friends tend to be better secret keepers because they simply donโt have that gene that makes you want to spread gossip like some (or most!) girls have! Hey, we canโt help it, we love to grab all the details, but when you ask a guy friend not to tell anyone, the chances are that he wonโt!
5. Self-Esteem Boost
There is no getting away from the fact that for some women, a guyโs opinion about certain aspects of themselves can matter more than a girlfriendโs opinion. Having a male friend around to tell you that you look great without any motive can be a great self-esteem booster, even more so than your bestie saying the very same thing! Having guy friends is healthy. They bring a different perspective to your life.
