It is one of the seven wonders of the world. It is a man made structure that was put up over two thousand years ago that took around one hundred years to complete. It started during the fifth century B.C. It is not really a single wall, but smaller walls placed together that stretches over four thousand miles. It was constructed in order to protect the Chinese Empire from the Xiongnu people, which was in the north. Initially, it was built of earth, stone, grass and wood. Once the production started, bricks were used. It is believed that 2 to 3 million people died during this project.
