REVIEW Estee Lauder High Gloss ...

So while in NY, I have my mail from my LA office forwarded to me here. And most of the time, it's bills, bills, and more bills. But last week, it was Christmas. No seriously. I felt as if Christmas had arrived and Santa had left me a great big, wonderful package under the tree. Why?

A padded envelope, which contained an official and oh so impressive Press Kit, plus one each of the just out, brand new Estee Lauder High Gloss lip gloss. Yes folks, it's Christmas in June.

So I decided to put it to the test. After oohing and aahhing over them at brunch with good friend Julie (aka Almost Girl), over a lazy Sunday afternoon brunch, well, let me just say, Estee Lauder has outdone themselves.

First off, the packaging is adorable. Long, sleek lip gloss tubes with THE most beautiful wearable colors I've seen. Packaging is similar to the infamous Lancome's Juicy Tubes, but think a skinnier, longer version of the tube, which is actually easier to hold in the hand. The slanted applicator tip is smaller than Juicy Tubes, so you'll find find that more swipes across the lip is needed to get the color everywhere, but believe me, you won't care.

The best part is the color range. All are wearable, doable, beautiful shades. No crazy dark, wierd colors here. All are softly sheer, but you see more color on than you think you will. Don't you hate it when you get a color that looks great, but once on is sooo sheer, that the color is all but gone? The color looks almost the same on as in the tube. Just think softer, and sheer.

But the best part? The look. This gloss looks absolutely beautiful on. The super shine is to die for, highly glossy but soft on the lips. You feel as if you're wearing lip balm, rather than a sticky, tacky gloss. And after 3 cups of coffee and a greasy salmon eggs benedict *yum! with fried potatoes later, the color had softened, but the shine was still going strong. Since that Sunday brunch, I've been using it on literally every photo shoot I've done.

Available in June, with a retail price of $16, and 14 shades to choose from, I say run, not walk to your nearest Estee Lauder counter, or online. (As of today, this has yet to be seen on their website.) This is one purchase you'll be absolutely thrilled over.

Besides, we all could use a little 'Christmas in June'.

;)
