1. what is true love?

True love is a state of living which we choose for ourselves to have. It's not something that just happens one day, we don't just wake up one morning and suddenly find we've found true love. True love requires a lot of attention, commitment and work for each person involved. It's honest, pure and completely raw. You don't find true love, you make true love.

2. trust

True love is based on trust. Trust is involved in every single aspect of true love because it's a vital component needed which can't be avoided one way or another. If you don't have trust, you certainly don't have true love. It's really as simple as that. It's about trusting your lover in every sense of the word. It's about trusting they will stick with you through thick and thin, good times and bad, easy and rough patches. It's about trusting they will always be there to support you and to act as a shoulder to cry on when you need it the most. It's about trusting that they will always have your back when it comes down to the wire and when push comes to shove.

3. respect

True love is also built with a high level of respect. This is just as much of a component as trust and the others to come. You have to respect your lover for who they truly are and everything they represent. You need to respect their opinion, needs, desires, differences, characteristics, flaws, strengths, weaknesses and everything else that makes up the person you love.

4. loyalty

True love is built on loyalty which remains to be constant throughout your relationship, over a long period of time. Loyalty means commitment and devotion to an extent and this will always be present and seen in cases of true love. Your lover will show loyalty towards you by remaining by your side through any and every situation, no matter how tricky or difficult it may seem. They will show their loyalty by always being there for you and acting as your support system, giving you what they are capable of and always having your best interests at heart. In return, you will show them the same loyalty for all the same reasons and many more.

5. dedication

True love requires each person to devote and dedicate a large portion of their time and attention needed to create a high-quality relationship worthy of becoming true love. True love is not for everyone in the sense that not everyone is willing to make this sacrifice. Therefore, love true is only possible for the individuals who are willing to go to such lengths and devote themselves so honestly and genuinely to their loved one.

6. long-lasting

True love is built over a long period of time until it becomes long lasting and willing to stand to test of time. Furthermore, your love will continue to exist even when you're both gone. This is because true love never dies. Many things in this world fade and end with time, but true love is not one of them. Quite the opposite in fact, it actually continues to grow with time. Time causes true love to become stronger, intact and solid.

7. commitment

True love requires each person to fully and whole-heartedly commit to their loved one each and every step of the way. It's not enough to committing half the time or on-and-off, you will need to be willing to commit at any given time and stage of the relationship in order to maintain a high level of consistency, dedication and sincerity. It's not enough to tell your lover you're will to do this, it's about showing them that you are capable of giving this kind of love and that will be demonstrated with time and patience. Actions speak louder than words, after all.

8. rarity

Because true love requires so many important components and needs to be built with plenty of care and effort from both sides, it becomes quite rare in the scheme of things. Let's face it, you would need to truly love this person a tremendous amount to be willing to go to these lengths in order to achieve a relationship which can eventually become true love, over time. But it most certainly can be done by those who choose this for their relationship. Time can either do one of two things to a relationship: it can weaken or strength it. True love only comes from the latter.
