Max Factor 2000 Calories Curved Brush Mascara Expert Review ...

By Lesley

Max Factor are aware that lashes get hungry too, so they came up with this delicious treat that will keep your lashes content and make you happy too! We all know satiated lashes equals lush lashes. Didn’t you? Let’s see if there’s any substance to their theory…
Type of Mascara: Curling & Volumising
Colours Available: Rich Black & Black Brown
Price Range: Cheap
Product Claims:
Get a dramatic look with 2000 Calorie Mascara — it volumizes lashes up to 200%. Water resistant and smudge-proof hypoallergenic formula is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. With curved brush applicator.
My Experience:
I like curved brush mascaras as I they nearly always create more curl than a straight brush. However, I manage a straight brush much easier and get less smudging. You can’t have it all! On application this mascara, immediately drew my lashes into a beautiful arc and I could see some added length. I continued and applied another coating hoping this would enhance the thickness of my lashes but rather disappointingly there was virtually no thickening taking place! I loved all the other points of this mascara, it’s such a shame it does lots of things but not the one if claims to!

Overall Rating: Average

Price: $5.95 at

I was surprised this mascara was good at creating other effects but there was little increase in volume. Did you have a similar experience?
