HP Pavilion Tx1000z Ultraportable Tablet PC

It’s been a while since we’ve seen an ultraportable from HP, and it’s certainly about time considering that as of late they have been pumping out some of the best and brightest laptop screens available on the market. The new Pavilion tx1000z is a 3.95lb laptop PC with a 12.1 inch screen that doubles as a touchscreen / tablet. The TX1000z is configurable with a hard drive as big as 200GB and it even has an integrated Nvidia 6150 graphics card. Three USB 2 ports, a 5 in 1 digital card reader, an IR port (umm, what for?), the optional lightscribe drive, and the $1,099 starting price make this one really desirable ultraportable - well almost. The TX1000z is powered not by an Intel core 2 duo, but rather by the AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processors. Albeit not a bad processor, the Turion doesn’t really compare with Intels competitor.
