# Gwen Stefani Donates $1 Million to Japan Relief Effort ...

Musician Gwen Stefani has donated $1 million to Save the Children's relief effort in Japan, proving that she's not just another pretty face - she's also a humanitarian.

Stefani joins a growing number of celebrities across the globe doing what they can to help those in need after an earthquake and resulting tsunami wiped out entire towns and villages in northern Japan earlier this month. Those celebs include Sandra Bullock (who donated $1 million to the Red Cross), Lady Gaga, and even Charlie Sheen. Aside from her generous donation, Stefani has also designed a tee shirt that her band, No Doubt, will sell on its website - and proceeds from the sale will also go to relief efforts in Japan.

In a press release on the No Doubt website Stefani encourages others to donate what they can to the relief effort, and says:

"I've been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture. The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.”
