# Fall Shoe Trends ...

Though **stiletto heels** have been extremely popular lately, our feet can all breath a sigh of relief that **flats** have definitely come into their own and are now a fashion staple. The **trend toward ballet flats and skimmers will continue**, and build momentum through fall. Watch for them in velvets and tapestries.

In the e**vening shoes department**, metallics won't have lost their shine yet, but watch for them in more autumn shades, such as copper, deep gold, oranges, olives and teals.

Nary an autumn goes by that doesn't work **tweeds or plaids** into the mix, and this fall will bring an abundance of both - look for them in **browns, deep purples, golds and blues. **

In styles to go with all of the bohemian and peasant clothing, and the chunky, eclectic jewelry, you'll see loads of tassles, velvets, embroidery and embellishments in the fall of 2005.

**Loafers **are always big in the fall, and happily this season we'll also see an abundance of loafers with heels.

**Hot colors are the typical autumn palette**, but this year with a bit more spice.

According to Pantone, **Morrocan Blue is the hottest color of the season**, with shades of ginger, ruby, olive and moss also making the list.

In short, think of all the hottest styles of this summer, and **add a fall twist.**
