(Dirt) Devil in the Details ...

Don't worry, I'm not turning Beauty Addict into a housewares blog, but there's something I've just got to share with you. It does tie into beauty, I promise. During a recent visit to Target I picked up the **Dirt Devil Kone Hand Vac** in a lovely shade of pale pink. I am a bit of a clean freak and had been on the hunt for something in between a Swiffer and a full-out vacuum, for quick raids on unwelcome specks of dust.

I have become quite enamored of this little device, and even though it's nearly hidden behind a plant near my kitchen, it garners many compliments and inquiries from my friends. It is rather odd looking for a vacuum, but in a modern, unique way. Plus, it deftly rids my home of dust bunnies, Christmas tree detritus, and stray particles of uncooked couscous.

The Kone's unique shape is the work of acclaimed designer **Karim Rashid**, and when I started snooping around his website I found that he is also responsible for the design of three of my very favorite things:

From left: Summer by Kenzo, Kenzo Amour, Kenzo Ryoko travel spray (read more about the ingenious Ryoko packaging **here**. I am obsessed with them).

I have been a fan of Kenzo fragrances for years -- in fact, **Summer by Kenzo in its pretty leaf bottle was one of the first products I ever wrote about on this blog**.

**Amour** is the newest addition to my collection and is a lovely warm vanilla oriental. And of course, the bottle is just exquisite. I find myself trying to justify buying one in each size just so I can have all three colors.

Karim has also done packaging for Issey Miyake, Davidoff, and Carolina Herrera, as well as the design for Morimoto in Philadelphia. I could go on for days about this, but the bottom line is, should Karim Rashid show up at my door one day and tell me he wants me to start a cosmetics line for which he would design the packaging, I would consider my life complete.
