Amy Winehouse Heavy Drinking is Worse than Doing Heroin

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse, who has ditched her trademark beehive for a short blonde do is set to cause a row over her claims that heavy drinking is “worse than doing heroin”.

The pop superstar admits to being a heavy drinker, and said she is a terrible drunk and insists that the legal stimulant is worse than injecting illegal drugs.

“Drinking long-term is a lot worse than doing heroin. Alcohol’s a real poison.”

Although with her well-documented problems with drink and drugs, and her failure to address them, it’s clear Amy is not exactly the voice of reason.

And despite her terrible problems with drug and alcohol abuse, when it comes to rehab she still says no.

A newly bleached Amy said: “I’m of the school of thought where if you can’t sort something out for yourself then no one can help you,” she told a U.S. magazine.

“I don’t know whether that’s because I’m a strong woman.

“If I go to the gym and I have a drink, I’m lovely to be around and really sweet.

“But if I haven’t been training or if there’s something bothering me, I’m a terrible drunk.”

Asked if her drinking gets her in trouble, she recalled: “I went to a restaurant recently and my friend was like, ‘Do you remember the last time we were here?

“The head waiter carried you but you were trying to punch and kick us’.

“When we left, I wrote on the bill, ‘Sorry for the drama have a massive tip’.”

Amy, told the U.S. edition of OK! Magazine, that she works so hard her drinking does not affect her work.

But she then admitted: “There are certain instances where I’ll be out and I’ll be drunk, and I’ll come to work and I’ll be shattered.

“Then there are other days where I’m like, ‘Listen, if you want to have a nice day, please get me some alcohol’.”

Amy insists she is not “bothered” by the attention given to her drastic weight loss.

“I’ve lost the weight because I don’t smoke weed anymore,” she said.

“I go to the gym, I drink a lot of water and I eat right.” She also insisted that part of the problem for her - and others like Posh Spice - is media manipulation of photographs.

“I feel bad for Victoria Beckham because I see pictures of her and they’ve made her thighs look smaller,” Amy said.

“They’ve done that to me, and it’s horrible.

“I’ve always had skinny little bird legs, but they’ve made them smaller.”

Asked if she had a problem with food she would only say “not really”. She added: “I’m fussy, though. I’ll eat West Indian, KFC, tuna salad, chicken soup - that’s about all I eat.”

The singer also revealed: “I don’t even have a TV.” She added: “I played a gig in this little girl’s bedroom the other day, and she had it better than me!

“I haven’t got a TV in my house, let alone my bedroom.”

Amy recently returned from a sunshine break in Mauritius where she stayed at rocker Bryan Adams home.

However, husband Blake, currently on remand in Pentonville prison for alleged assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, apparently wasn’t too happy that she took ex-boyfriend George Roberts along for the luxury break.

A friend said: “He is furious she was with George while he was locked up.

“She has lapped up the sun while he’s been on his own feeling miserable.

“He doesn’t like her friendship with George as it is. Being in jail, he feels more and more detached from Amy.

“He also wants an explanation, but he’s desperate not to lose her.”
