When I travel, I like to pack as compactly as possible, so that I don’t have to drag a heavy suitcase, and can also save space for any purchases made while away. Unfortunately, most of my makeup is not very portable, being in large sets. So I need a small makeup kit. In a previous post, I wrote about some great sets, but now I’m going to suggest some [items](https://allwomenstalk.com/7-items-you-should-never-be-without/) if you prefer to build your own kit. ## 1. It’s so slimline that it will take up no space at all in your makeup bag. There is a choice of warm and cool colours; I prefer the cool set, as I think the colours are more versatile for day and night makeup. ## 2. A mini version is just what you need! Alternatively, try tinting your lashes, but don’t forget that skin test first … ## 3. I like to use a tinted moisturiser when travelling, so that I get sun protection, moisturiser and cover in one product. That’s smart use of space! I don’t like a heavy base or powder anyway, so a tinted moisturiser works fine for me. ## 4. Not only do you get foundation and powder in one product, but it can be easily applied with a sponge (included here), which saves on packing brushes and other tools. ## 5. I’d pick out one light and one strong colour to take with me when travelling, but the advantage of this set is that it comes with a box to keep the lipsticks together. So if you like a variety of colours when you’re away, the box will keep things tidy and make good use of space. ## 6. Then for travelling purposes, blotting papers are ideal. There’s no need to fuss with a brush, just pull out a sheet and that shiny nose is history! ## 7.
