Have you ever watched[a movie](https://allwomenstalk.com/10-most-romantic-movies/)and been disgusted or amused with how[your own job](https://allwomenstalk.com/12-warning-signs-your-job-is-in-danger/) or profession has been depicted? Don’t you wish your job was actually that exciting? I know I have… I was an archivist and the only times I’ve ever seen them in the movies, they were having a lot more fun than I did! Here are 7 other jobs that look cooler in the movie and on TV than they actually are… ## 1. Archaeologist ![Archaeologist](https://resize.allw.mn/1028x0/filters:format(webp)/filters:quality(70)/content/www/2010/06/7-jobs-that-look-cooler-in-movies-and-on-tv-than-they-actually-are/archaeologist_jobs-look-cooler-movies-and-tv-than-they-actually_450x323.jpg) **Made exciting by:** Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, and “The Mummy” In real life, being an anthropologist is [pretty exciting](https://allwomenstalk.com/4-exciting-celebrity-news/), but not nearly as exciting as it looks in the “Indiana Jones” or “Tomb Raider” movies. And I’ve known several anthropologists and archaeologists, and none of them have ever been attacked by a mummy… or had to run away from a giant boulder… or opened Pandora’s Box. ## 2. And she doesn’t get to wear anything Kevlar, or even [fabulous stilettos](https://allwomenstalk.com/10-tips-on-buying-fabulous-shoes/). Darn. ## 3. BORING. Lots of paperwork, lots of filings, and lots of annoying, petty clients. ## 4. It’s nothing like what you [see on TV,](https://allwomenstalk.com/7-most-popular-television-shows/) and by the by, DNA tests NEVER come back that quickly! It can take MONTHS. ## 5. And though my [boyfriend](https://allwomenstalk.com/top-10-signs-hes-a-long-term-boyfriend/) is both a hottie and a cardiac nurse, I’ve never seen him look soulfully at a patient and say, “breathe, damn you!” ## 7. Most have been abused as children (and now as adults), are addicted to drugs, and are riddled with diseases they can’t afford to treat. If only these jobs were as exciting as they look on TV or in the movies! Then there wouldn’t be any shortage of nurses or librarians, would there?
