Cushing Syndrome

This is also known as hypercorticism. It is a hormone (endocrine) disorder that is caused by high levels of cortisone in the blood. What causes it? It can be caused by tumors that are producing cortisol or adrenocorticotropic hormone. It can also be caused by glucocorticoid drugs. Usually, it can be cured by going through surgery. It is not confined to humans. It is common in domestic dogs and horses.

Encephalitis

This one is popular. It is an acute inflammation of the brain. Patients who are dealing with this suffer from headache, fevers and weakness, Also, it is common to have seizures. The symptoms are caused by the brain’s defense mechanism. It is trying to get rid of the infection.

Huntington’s Disease

This is a progressive neurodegenerative genetic disorder. It affects muscle coordination and will lead to dementia. It becomes noticeable when someone is in their middle ages. If a child is born from a parent who is infected with the disease, then there is a fifty percent chance that the child can get it as well. If both parents have the affected gene, then the chances are higher.

There is no cure for AIDS and nearly everyone knows this one. This is a disease that takes toll on the human immune system. It is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus. It leaves individuals more prone to infections and tumors. It is a sexually transmitted disease. It can be transmitted if one comes in contact of the mucus membrane or the bloodstream of someone who has it.

This is a mosquito-borne infectious disease. It is widespread and is found in parts of the Americas, Africa and Asia. Yearly, there are 350-500 million cases of this disease. It kills between one to three million people. The majority of them are young children that are in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is normally transferred by the bite of a female Anopheles mosquito.

TB for short is a common and often times deadly infectious disease that is caused by a number of different strains of mycobacteria. In humans, it is usually caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. It usually attacks the lungs, but it is known for affecting other parts of the body. It is a disease that is spread through the air. It is spread when those who have the disease cough, spit, or sneeze.

This quickly spread across North America when it was introduced in 1999. It is believed to have entered in by an infected bird of maybe even a mosquito. However, there is no evidence showing us this fact. It spread quickly through our birds and mosquitoes spread the disease to the mammals. Mainly, it was found in horses, but it did appear on some other species.

No, I did not include the Swine Flu on here, I’m not going to contribute and jump in with the media and cause mayhem across the world. These are 7 deadly diseases. Yes, there are many more, some may be more deadly than the ones I have listed here, so would you share that with us?
