7 Cool Hobbies to Try with Your Boyfriend ...

Have you ever noticed that some couples seem to have such a great time doing things together? It’s likely because they’re not always doing an activity or pursuing a hobby the girl wants to do — they’re probably doing things they both want to do! If you want to try a hobby your boyfriend might like, I can help! Here’s a list to give you some ideas… 7 cool hobbies to try with the man in your life!

Home-brewing Beer

If you like cooking or baking, then you may want to try home-brewing your own beer! What man wouldn’t fall, or stay, head over heels in love with a girl that can make a mean IPA or stout? It takes a little time and patience, but it’s fun, and so rewarding to drink a beer you’ve made yourself… with a little help from your sweetie!

2

Target Shooting

My boyfriend has a collection of handguns and he loves to shoot them at the range. I went with him once, on a whim, and now I’m hooked! It’s a little expensive, and very, very loud, but this is one hobby your boyfriend and you will both love — and you even get to compete with him!

3

Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is a very manly pastime, and is fantastic exercise, especially for your upper body… so why not give it a try? It’s a great idea to try an indoor wall first, to get some practice in, but if you climb all winter, you’ll be ready to try the real thing by summer!

4

Flag Football

In my little suburb of Detroit, there are a number of flag football leagues, co-ed, and it’s so much fun to play! Without the worry of being tackled and injured, we girls actually have some advantages — we’re pretty light on our feet, and so fast! Wouldn’t it be fun to play on a flag football team with your boyfriend?

5

Golf

Ah, golf. It’s a men’s and a women’s sport, so you may already play. If you don’t though, know this — it involves a lot of walking, which means a lot of time together. It’s also a lot of fun, if you can ever develop your swing (I’m still working on mine)…

Famous Quotes

Rock Band

It’s just a simple fact — boys love video games, and they love playing (or pretending to play) rock music. Playing Rock Band is a big improvement over playing air guitar and air drums, or singing into your hairbrush… and with so many great songs to choose from, why not try it? Your boyfriend will appreciate a bass player or lead singer, and you’ll have a chance to impress him by hitting those high notes.

7

Fishing

Perhaps a little more relaxed than the other things on this list, but fishing can be a great hobby to try with your man. It’s calm, quiet, and can even lead to a fab home-cooked fish dinner. So you can impress him with your fish-catching skills and your cooking skills!

Would these hobbies be so much fun to try with your boyfriend? I know I love target shooting and playing Rock Band with mine, and I can’t wait to try golf… I’m not positive about fishing yet, but we’ll see! Which of these do you and your boyfriend do together? Or is there something you do with him that’s not on this list? Please let me know!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Michael, i think you're missing the point...if the picture you click on shows a girl in a pink bunny suit begging at the feet of a guy, it's going to send the message it's a sexually related article. It doesn't matter where the viewer's mind is...good luck putting a picture up like that somewhere and insisting it's not sexual. I suppose if the girl were on a leash you'd still insist it's not sexual. The article is initially titled 'things to try with your boyfriend'. that's very different than 'hobbies to try with your boyfriend'. especially when it's combined by a girl in a pink bunny suit begging at the feet of a guy.

well, in an attempt to be a better girlfriend, i tried stuff my hubby likes. Such as playing pool (kinda fun, except we kept arguing since i never played before and he is extremely good at it. turns out, he wanted to play seriously, and it ruined the game for him to have to stop and teach me everything-especially after forking over cash to play.not romantic at all.and he was able to drink and play-i had to stay stone cold sober just to shoot the stick!not fun...) I went out to FISH...which was fun, for me. I thought it was ridiculously boring watching him fish for the first 2 hours, but then it got fun as i made fun of him "Ha ha, you haven't caught a single fish-i bet i can catch at least one!"...very fun, even though I also couldn't catch one.think i would've had a heart attack if I really caught a fish though-so gross... we played golf-well, almost.turns out, he is afraid to try the real thing because he doesn't want to suck.but i get cool girlfriend points for taking him out to check out different golf spots around town.maybe someday.... we also tried rockband.i love guitar hero, so turns out this is MY hobby, not his.he even got me the delux rockband set with a brand new $500 PS3 to play it on.we had fun the first 3 days when we rocked out together...but he has refused to touch it ever since.that was last year! as for the rest of the list, i hate when he drinks but maybe the beer brewing could be cool if it saves money. i'll never participate in gun play...it is a weapon, not a toy.maybe lazer tag or paintball is acceptable though.flag football is a kid thing...my man is grown!plus, judging from the "playing pool" experience, I can't say he won't tackle me.it's pretty clear he is competitive and takes things seriously...lucky for our relationship, but not lucky for a fun game hobby.

How Come no one put down sexual activities??? My Boyfriend and I love each other very much and have a blast with each other and I think having fun sexually is Very Important, keeps you Lively and happy and your boyfriend will love it too ;)

all those things are a little boring, though. That's just from my perspective, though.

Uhm. I'm sorry, but everyone commenting on this article is an idiot, or, well, about 90% of you. First of all, everyone has different opinions. For me, I'd like 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. IMO, I hate the taste of beer; and football is an incredibly boring sport (I'm more baseball/basketball myself.) Anyway, everyone saying this list is inaccurate is dumb; it's clearly a list of what the author likes. It's what SHE thinks would be fun to do. However, anyone saying the list is completely accurate is also dumb. Everyone has their own ideas of what's fun, and maybe not all this applies to everyone. Big deal. Seriously, you all need to just build a bridge and get over it.

Sorry, I don't see me and my boyfriend doing these things, so they're no help to me... I've tried to play tennis with my boyfriend, but i sucked big time. I've tried to play call of duty with/against him, but i even sucked more with that than with tennis. I've also tried to play biljart, but i kept staring at my boyfriend most of the time cause i thought he was so sexy playing it. Playing cards and Tekken (you know, that fighting game on the xbox) was kinda OK, but we both thought that was boring after 5 minutes... I think the problem is that he's too good in playing things and that i'm not that of a gaming-person. The only thing that's a success, is partying together and going out to dinner. But i'd like to do more than that! So does annnnybody have annnny better suggestions than the things mentioned in the 7-things-to-do-list???

I think it matters what the two of you enjoy doing personally. A lot of people are into different things, and doing things with a person, especially one of the opposite gender, can be tricky! I find it's good to not spend too much time together, even though we live together, and also to consider more the daily routine than what exceptional events we can do together, in terms of who is planning on going to the store and who can pick up things or drive somewhere, with a bit of coordination and teamwork we can optimize our days so that we spend less time and effort than we would both doing our routines solo. We also both enjoy conversations, and will frequently lay in bed and chat for a while about a variety of practical and recent topics. We both seem to have different areas of expertise, and I have found that in exchange for some thoughts on a variety of topics and a few car rides, I get good suggestions on nutrient intake, body maintentce, and other social situations. It's also nice to have someone around to talk to frequently, although we do sleep separately, this is mostly because I'm easy to wake up and grumpy when tired, although usually she wanders in and cuddles with me on my big bed once or twice a day. Most of the time she does different things than I do, and has mostly different interests, for example I can't convince her to use my power tools, while she can't get me to use facebook. I think she mostly does facebook and social networking on her computer, along with other normal tasks, while I mostly play video games on my new 3D screen, that she recently complained she can't chill in my bed and watch me play since the screen isn't visible any more without glasses, and I only have one pair of the $250 glasses. ;p Anyways it's mostly touching and talking, not so much playing golf and doing other stuff, we did some nature hiking and I think she decided to stay indoors, it was either the cougars or the 35 foot high slippery log, one of those.

I really don't think this is a helpful article. Taking someone with you to do things you love and they hate, ruins the experience. Don't spoil guy time, and don't drag an unwilling man around a vintage fashion market unless you want to go home grumpy and empty handed. I'd say if your man does all these things, you should think about finding someone a bit more interesting. And by the way, shooting destroys your hearing.
