# 3 New Movies Opening on Weekend ...

Looks like it is going to be a rather **slow week** as far as movie releases go with only one wide release. But for movie lovers like me there's always something to watch. Here are my choices for **movies to look forward to this week...**

## 1. Couples Retreat

**Genre**: Comedy

**Cast**: Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Malin Ackerman, Kritstin Davis, Kristen Bell and Faizon Love

**Director**: Peter Billingsley

**Flixster rating**:74%

**Me thinks: Couples** **Retreat is your usual comedy about four usual couples who go vacationing to a [tropical island resort](https://allwomenstalk.com/7-hottest-resorts-for-holidaying-this-year/) and discover (as the movie's tagline suggests), it may be paradise but it's no vacation!** This looks like a funny take on all the real world problems that couples face....the perfect movie to watch on a lazy Sunday with the boyfriend or the husband me thinks. Can't wait! Check out the trailer below...

## 2. An Education

**Genre**: Drama

**Cast**: Peter Sarsgaard, Carey Mulligan, Alfred Molina, Rosamund Pike

**Director**: Lone Scherfig

**Rotten Tomatoes Rating**:85%

**Me thinks: **An Education is essentially a **coming-of-age story** that revolves around a bright young woman whose life completely changes when she meets a charming man almost twice her age. And suddenly as with every love story, real or otherwise, she's faced with **difficult choices that must be made**. I know the story sounds like it's been done a million times over but there's just something about London in the 1960's that makes me want to watch this....

## 2. The Damned United

**Genre**: Biopic and sports

**Cast**: Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall, Colm Meaney, Jim Broadbent

**Director**: Tom Hooper

**Rotten Tomatoes Rating**:90%

**Me thinks **: The Damned United is based on the **real life story of Brian Clough**'s 44 day reign as the manager of Leeds United, one of the best football clubs in 1970's England. Honestly, [sports movies](https://allwomenstalk.com/8-best-inspirational-sports-movies/) are not for me at all but this one looks like it has enough drama, fritction perhaps even some dark humor to keep even non believers like me interested .
