But there are so many interesting things about Christian Dior we don't know! I thought we should start somewhere, so here are 13 facts about Christian Dior that'll help you understand the life and work of this ingenious designer a bit better.

Christian Dior was born on January 21 of 1905. He passes away on October 24, 1957. He is known for being the founder of one of the top fashion houses in the world. He was a French fashion designer who gained a lot of popularity.

Christian Dior was born in Granville, Normandy in a seaside town that was sitting on the coast of France.

Despite his future as an iconic fashion designer, Christian Dior's early life was not foreseen to be in the fashion industry. His family had hoped he would become a diplomat, but Dior was drawn to the creative and artistic world. As a young man, he sold his fashion sketches on the streets of his hometown for about 10 cents each. This early passion for art and design laid the groundwork for what would later become a fashion empire, showcasing Dior's innate talent and eye for detail that would captivate the world.
