Picture this: models with windswept hairdos wearing large, dark Hollywood glamour sunglasses. Add to that the uber-glamorous black suits and ivory dresses.
What do you have? The Yohji Yamamoto Spring 2009 Collection, which graced the runways of Paris recently.
Yohji is part of the trio of Japanese designers ruling the fashion industry, which includes Issey Miyake and Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo. But as compared to the other two designers, Yohji is the most playful designer – and black and white are the predominant colors in his designs.
Check out pics from the collection below:

The first part of the suit was lushly full of black suits, as well as jackets with uneven lapels and tails. The second part of the show is when the ivory dresses started flowing down the runway. All in all, the collection was a like a breath of fresh air for the mere mortals who worry, at the back of their minds, what the plummeting of the Dow will mean to their fashion-obsessed pockets.
