No matter what demons are sneaking up on you – you may feel a lot better talking it out with a shrink over the phone, rather than dealing with him or her face-to-face.
According to WebMD.com, patients who receive psychotherapy over the phone is an increasingly common practice.
The problem that patients have with face-to-face therapy sessions is that there is a high attrition rate – or patients dropping out of their treatment plans. Emotional and structural barriers are the reasons behind the drop out rate.
So if you find it difficult to show up in an appointment with your shrink – you may soon have the option to go for over-the-phone therapy. This way, you can easily pour your heart out and you’ll have no excuse not to show up – because all you need to do is pick up the phone and dial.
