Much to my unpredicted surprise: nowhere. Whilst at first I was doubtful of animal prints’ staying power after their typical Spring entry & exit, I am now a believer that animal prints also work for Fall and Winter. Fashion IS fickle, but maybe not fickle enough.
The wild creations I coveted from Spring 2008, like the zebra printed gauze skirts at Wunderkind to the cheetah robe at Dior, had brothers and sisters who roamed onto Fall’s runways – thank you Blumarine! Yet, my favorite animal of all, the giraffe, was nowhere to be seen. So, more specifically, where have all the giraffes gone? Or am I yearning for something that is just so last season?
However I try, I can’t quiet my desire. So, after digging around, I managed to find a few giraffe printed pieces – not runway, mind you – but wildly cool all the same.
Bianca Nygård Faux Fur Jacket

I can already imagine this kind of jacket topping a night-on-the-town dress, one that is super simple like a basic black sheath.
Maxx New York Tote Bag

Roomy bags are still on my list; if I can squeeze my life into it, it’s a done deal. This tote will also give work to weekend ensembles just enough drama.
St John Sport Reversible Dress

There’s nothing better than two-in-one styling. This dress gives you that option, plus the print is subtle enough so you can wear it whenever, wherever.
