Walking Barefoot Can Be Good Therapy

Anyone who’s a sucker for romantic comedies would remember that scene where Robert Robert Redford walked “Barefoot in the Park” – in the 1967 movie of the same title, of course. Without looking at it from a romantic context, however, are there health benefits associated with walking barefoot? There is – if you will do it on the beach, on dew, on clean grass and on small pebbles. The perfect time for walking barefoot is at dawn if you plan to do it regularly as therapy.

Here are the benefits that you will get from walking barefoot. First, your immune system will be more resistant to colds and infections. Second, the activity itself will help clear away the cobwebs from your mind. Finally, it helps improve the blood circulation through your feet, and lowers the risks of some health problems such as arthritis, dermatitis, lung disease, obesity, tiredness and everyday physical stress.

I remember the movie Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts was in the park with Richard Gere. She removed her sandals and walk barefoot in the grass. At the end of the movie, Richard Gere did the same while he was thinking about Julia Roberts.

I remember when I was younger I always used to walk around barefoot. Even as I grew older, I always tried to go barefoot whenever possible. I noticed about a year ago for the last 2-3 years, I hadn’t been getting sick as much. ;)
    Walking barefoot has it’s perks.

Oh, good for you Ashley, I on the other hand had a traumatic experience when I was a child, I stepped on a piece of glass in the park, and that was the end of my bare foot walking…
