Just got a new piercing or planing on getting one? You will need to know how to clean them. I own 8 piercings. I've had many many more.
1| Don't Touch/Play With It!
The only time you should touch a fresh piercing is if you're going to clean it! Always remember to wash your hands before you do so.
2| Know If It's Healing Right
If you're experiencing bleeding, swelling or a little brushing, that's a normal healing process. Sometimes you may even get a little, what I call it "piercing boogie" that's okay too.
But if notice pus or feel like after the healing time is done that there is any sign of infection, get ahold of the piercer you got it done at.
The best way to clean a piercing is to use warm salt water. It works wonders! There are other products you can buy aswell. NEVER PUT ALCOHOL OR PEROXIDE ON IT! It will dry out your piercings & make the healing process longer then it should be. You should clean your piercings three times max a day. Over cleaning is bad for your piercings.
4| Don't Change Jewelry Too Soon!
Wait until your piercing is fully healed, usually the piercer will tell you when it should be all healed up.
5| Don't Snug On Your Piercing!
Make sure when putting your clothes on/ off you don't get it caught. It will be painful & possibly rip a little.
