Who knew that merely moving into college could rival the stress you feel the day before your math final? It’s just picking up boxes, wheeling in giant crates of books and putting in books, right? How hard could that be? Put it this way: it’s the first day of school. Nothing about that has changed. You want to make a good first impression (if you’re a freshman) or just look your best (freshman or returning student)! Most importantly, while you’re wheeling in crates and carrying boxes into your new home for the next couple of months, you need to be comfy. Who the hell wants to lug in heavy boxes of nonsense in high heels? Nobody, that’s who. You don’t want to sweat through your ever-fancy or slam your expensive jewelry around. Save those for the year (or, don’t even pack them at all. You’ll stop dressing nice after your third 8 am class). Check out gallery on move-in day outfits to inspire some of your own! Remember, comfort is key.

1. LOVELY LAZY

This outfit is perfect because the big, comfy sweater allows you to move a lot – something you’ll be doing on move-in day. The key part of this outfit is the sneakers. Yes, they look cute, but they’ll keep your feet feeling good after hour three of move-in day.

2. PREPPY COOL

Comfy shirt? Check. Sensible shoes? Got it. Stretchy leggings? Duh. Ensuring that your clothes do not restrict you in any way is critically important. You can still look cute (as this woman demonstrates) and be functional. She even jazzed up a comfy outfit with a necklace! Awesome.

3. GRUNGE CHIC

A-ha! The shirt tied around the waist trend –it’s back. The combination of high-waisted shorts and crop top will always be effortlessly cute. You need not have to add any bling to your outfit to complete it. Peek the comfy shoes. You’ll desperately be needing those.

4. CHILL BOHO

If you can’t tell, I’m a fan of high-waisted shorts. This outfit is perfect because it’s light enough to keep you cool and looking cute. Feeling hot? Take off the sweater.

5. CUTE YOGI

Skinny sweatpants and a loose fitting top is a surefire way to have an effortlessly cute move-in day outfit. Add in a sparkly watch or a gold bracelet for a sparkly pop!

6. DENIM ROCKER

Denim on denim screams an effortless, rock star look. Not only are you covering all your bases (you won’t have to worry about flashing anybody on move-in day!), you can easily maneuver those thousands of boxes you somehow managed to stuff into the back of your car.
