Ten Favorite Foods
Rorie tagged me for the ten favorite foods thing many meals ago and here they are: dark chocolate–as dark and bitter as possible; nuts, particularly almonds and walnuts; avocados; pumpkin bread –toasted, with cream cheese on top; dried cranberries; crostini with olive oil, kosher salt and garlic; coconut curry; potatoes; black beans; raspberries.
Go Ask Alice
Thanks to Alice of My Adventures in the Breadbox, I found a new salmon recipe that Hubby really liked. I highly recommend Alice’s (by way of Cooking Light) Grilled Pastrami-Style Salmon (but I baked mine in parchment).
I’m Not Boycotting France
The Tarte d’ Alsace that Trader Joe’s carries in their frozen pizza section is terrific. At $4.29, it’s a bit expensive, but the caramelized onions, gruyere and little slivers of ham atop a thin flat bread-y thing are luscious. Even Kiddo loved it!
Boiled Cookies? Yes!
Check out Jaay’s post about her grandmother’s boiled cookies. I’m intrigued by these mysterious creations handed down through the family and raved about by Jaay. Thanks for the interesting post, Jaay!
Put Some South In Your Mouth
Amy over at Beauty, Joy, Food got my mouth watering with thoughts of her Christmas Spiced Pralines. I was just jonesing for some pecanish confections the night before and hit Epicurious for some recipes but Amy was way ahead of me!
Or How About Some North?
My opposite-coast friend Lou from One Whole Clove has started a series about the authentic Christmas experience in Quebec and I eagerly await all the new posts.
