With all the freebies the TV talk shows are giving away these days, who needs to go shopping?

Friday my niece and sister-in-law arrived at our place to spend the day. They bought cute Christmas gifts for Baby Mogul and he just sat there touching everything and looking at me thinking, “Why don’t you get me more of these cool kind of toys mama?”

Those toys I know they bought. However, they have gone away with some nice things just by being in the studio audience. The two of them are a great mother and daughter team. They get tickets to all the TV talk shows. This Tuesday they will be in the audience for Martha Stewart. They’ve been to the show before and here is what happens behind the scenes. Martha gives out free skillets and beautiful gourmet food baskets! In fact, before taping starts everyone gets to eat fresh croissants and drink coffee!

Here are the shows I’ve been in the audience for:

David Letterman (twice)
Conan O’Brien
Chris Rock (when he had a show way back)
Live with Regis and Kathy Lee
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (in the UK)

And did I get any goodies as a studio member? NO! So I am so envious!

Every time my SIL is in the audience she gets caught on camera. She seems to have that “Camera Ready” face. For the Tony Danza show, she was miked and had to participate in his antics. For being spotlighted on, she went away with a Scrubs DVD set. Hey, it was free! Of course, one would get embarrassed when these sorts of things happen so when I asked her when she was going to be on Martha Stewart, she hesitated because she didn’t want me to find her in the audience. Well not only am I going to watch for her and my niece, I AM ANNOUNCING IT HERE!

I once knew a girl who worked for Martha Stewart and the woman is known to be some tough cookie (no pun intended). The staff were terrified of her. All those scary moments dealing with icing…brrr.

So people, here’s a tip. Your wallets are empty? Apply for tickets to the shows. You might go away with a $1800 bracelet as my SIL’s friend once did at The View.
