18 Budget Friendly Ways to Spice Up Your Relationship …

Want to spice up your relationship this Spring? Check out these pocket-friendly tips and see what my friends and I usually do to lighten things up with our other half!

  1. Make a date night! Plan an amount that you can afford, say $10 a week. Then take it in turns to plan a ‘date’ that fits within this budget. After a few weeks, give a reward to whoever planned the best date.
  2. Hug him spontaneously. It’s surprising how much physical contact drops after the first few months of a relationship, so give him some hugs and bring that physical closeness back.
  3. Surprise him in the shower!

Girls Night Out

By Shianne

Recently I posted an ad on a well-known public forum for which I will refrain from naming in the event I get verbally clobbered by those of you who tend to think less of folks who traverse such forums. Let me explain. This ad was of a different nature. The subject matter was about a common concern, but yet scarcely addressed in an open public forum fashion. It is of such delicate subject matter that in most cases best friends are not privy, and most certainly family members cannot know. This secret lives deep and dark and surfaces only when the mind has time to run amok with contemplation of the secrets’ pleasures and joys only dreamt of. I’ll give you a hint as to the subject matter and then we can move on from here: Women Seeking Women

Who’s World Is It Anyway?

By Rose Mills

Do you ever wonder who’s world you’re living in? Are you really wearing the trousers in your life? Or is it dictated by the rising prices, fast paced city lifestyle and the demanding catwalk fashionistas – overly skinny, overly pretty and damn expensive to copy!

As a woman, an engaged woman at that, I often question my existence in relation to the things around me. A quickly emptying bank account (but I only got paid 5 days ago and haven’t even been food shopping yet!), what my friends are doing and talking about and how can we ignore the current failing bank system.

You Deserve Better!

By Terisa Hill

For the ladies out there who’ve ever thought the words, “This man is just not good enough for me,” I strongly suggest you read further.

There are enough women out there who have put up with men who don’t deserve them, that they have come to not remember that they deserve better. It is about time we women come together and try to change that. If we rally ourselves to set a standard approved only by and for women, then we won’t feel alone in our tough choices in men. Instead, we will feel support when we are questioning ourselves about if we are worth more than what the particular man in question can give us.
I have found that a man cannot be the primary judge of what a woman is worth. We have to rely on the understanding of our own gender if we want the true worth of who we are.

Retracting the Claws

By Laura Oler

One of the greatest luxuries a woman can have is at least one close friend. That one person who is there for you when you get dumped, is cheering for you when you swear off double-fudge brownies… again, and the one pal that will always be your walking full-sized mirror (she would not let you wear red, pleather pants and Bedazzled purple sweater if her life depended on it).

Finding Nemo… or Who Ever I Call Myself Today.

By Dianna Hernandez

Hello my name is Dianna, with 2 Ns! many people get that confused and spell it wrong. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves. And if you call me Diane. I hate that name. But it’s only one of the many names I have. There’s Melba, she’s a lovely lady, proper and true. She’s a large black woman from the south. She believes whole heatedly in Christ and lives her life for him. She is always kind. Then there is Sally. Sally is a dirty little teen who does as she pleases and wants only to have fun all day long. She has no responsibilities or worries, but she can sometimes be quite mean. Her fresh tongue might cut you to the core and she’ll just walk away laughing. Don’t ask Sally if you look fat in that dress- she’ll tell you the truth. But she’s strong and honest and doesn’t take any “cr-p” from anyone. She likes to teach women how to do the same. Many woman love to hate her. She is very sexy and likes to flaunt it. Finally there is Dee Dee. She is a child-like spirit, who loves to laugh, love and dance. She falls in love at the drop of a hat and then gets her heart broken because she is quick to believe men’s lies. She is easily hurt by words and actions and would rather run and hide then fight or argue. She just wants everyone to be happy. But she is often filled with sadden because she can’t seem to find her way home.
