Honeymoons in the United States are often forgotten about because of places like Paris, Rome, or Athens and though we may not have the Eiffel tower, the Roman Colosseum, or Acropolis we do have wonders of the world, tropical beaches, romantic getaways and much more. 4. Florida Keys Please…

Beautiful beaches, clear blue water, tropical fish and wildlife, and a historical culture full of victorian architecture are only a few things that the Florida Keys brings to the rest of the states. In Key Largo you can scuba dive down to the Spiegel Grove Wreck, a ship that was sunk after retiring from the Navy to help create a new coral reef ecosystem. Visit history in Key West  at the Key West Heritage House Museum and Robert Frost Cottage and put your toes on the Southernmost Point in the US. Other islands of the Keys include Big Pine and the Lower Keys, Marathon, and Islamorada which are all just as fabulous for your honeymoon as Key Largo and Key West. 3. Ski together in Aspen….

Aspen, Colorado is beautiful all year round, but if your honeymoon falls during the winter months and you just happen to be an adventure type couple then these mountains are the place for you! Stay in the center of Aspen at Sky Hotel where you can take a dip in the heated pool as the snow lays on the ground around you. What better time to snuggle close together in front of a romantic fire than after a day on the slopes at the Snowmass Village. Waking up to this view on your honeymoon while laying next to your new life long partner will have you pinching yourself to make sure your not dreaming! Whew! Glad that’s out. Realizing you have a problem is the first step to recovery, no? But what if I don’t want to recover?? From what, you ask? Let me try again.

Hi, I’m Lauren. And I am obsessed with weddings.

Obsessed, is actually a mild term for the full blown, unending, and ardent A-D-O-R-A-T-I-O-N I have of all things nuptial. My wedding, my best friend’s weddings, Eva Longoria Parker’s wedding… I am up to date and drooling over the details of every. single. one. I thought that the problem would go away over-night after my beloved popped the question. But it didn’t, and here I am, knee deep in adorable planning notebooks, theknot.com community boards, and a slideshow of Ellen and Portia’s recent fete. This is all not to mention the 100+ episodes of Platinum Weddings and My Big Fat Fabulous Weddings clogging my DVR and eating up evenings my fiancé and I are supposed to spending “wedding free time” (?!?!) together. [N.B. -- I find that Bridezilla is a terrible abomination of anything nupitally related and refuse to watch it]

So what is a girl to do? I was hoping that this gig as a blogger, specifically about wedding trends, experiences, and advice would help me cope with my problem. Sort of like talking through a terrible situation at work with a loved one or journaling away all things that are eating at your psyche. OR this will be a full-fledge admittance of my love of weddings and allow me to pass on some of my crazy to devoted readers.

I’ve been looking around for cute dresses to wear to the full calendar of events I have coming up this summer. Yes, it’s officially the beginning of wedding season. While shopping online, I came across this Cynthia Rowley Scarf Halter Dress and absolutely fell in love with it.

The dress is colour-blocked in a cheerful yellow and blue and has an interesting overlay on the front bodice. It almost looks like one of those flowy sarongs we throw on while on the beach, but much more refined with the draped halter and low back.

I love that the dress is unique and fun and flirty. With this, there’s no worry about showing up to the big party only to find someone else wearing the same dress. (I hate when that happens!) $407 available on shopbop.com.

High-end fashion label, Marchesa are famous for creating show stopping gowns for the red carpet, so it’s only natural that they’ve decided to create show stopping wedding gowns too. Georgina Chapman (one half of Marchesa) must have had lots of fun designing her own dress for her wedding to mogul, Harvey Weinstein because the designer has created a capsule bridal collection scheduled to launch next month!

A friend of mine has been searching for an outfit to wear to her good friend’s wedding and as much as she loved the idea of wearing a dress, she realized that she wouldn’t be able to get much use out of the dresses she was looking at for the wedding. Instead, I advised her to go with simple, well-tailored separates that she could then wear at the office or day-to-day. Here is what I came up with:

1. Geren Ford Ruffle Neck top in Plum from www.shopjinny.com. I absolutely love the high ruffled collar on this blouse, as well as the plum shade. It’s wearable in all seasons (with the appropriate cover-up, of course), and the deep V-neck adds a sexy but still classy flair to the blouse. This absolutely has to be worn with hair up! $191

2. St John Collection Santana Knit Skirt in White, from Nordstrom. The fitted white skirt will be a bright, sleek counterpart to the slightly loose and muted shade of the Geren Ford blouse. It’s the white skirt that will really make the outfit seasonally appropriate for a springtime wedding. Of course, this white skirt is a perfect basic for your wardrobe. $300 from nordstrom.com

3. So, the shoes are still under debate. On one hand are these lovely Twyla metallic mid-heels from J. Crew in metallic gold leather (though the coral suede is quite nice as well). As we all know, metallics are here to stay and they go with everything, plus the lower heel height ensures that you can, in fact, strap your dancing shoes on and not need to ice your feet down later. Alternately, there are these punchy suede Meredith heels, also from J. Crew, in sour lemon. The heels are a bit higher, but the citrus hue adds a bit of fun to the outfit and brings down the ‘va-va-voom’ factor a notch so you don’t upstage the bride. $175 and $165, respectively, at www.jcrew.com

4. A lady needs a purse. Just what each of us chooses to put in it is something of a mystery, but, we need them. So I found this cute paillette Mirabelle clutch from J. Crew (actually I kind of stumbled across it while looking for the shoes). Anyway, the navy is a perfect complement to the blouse and skirt and the linen is oh-so-spring (or summery, when the seasons change!). $148, exclusively at www.jcrew.com

Simple pearl earrings, a pedicure, and if need be, a cashmere wrap are all you need to complete this outfit. Each of these pieces are totally wearable for a multitude of occasions– there will be no need to relegate any of these pieces to the back of your closet!

Love it or hate it the Knot is one of the best wedding resources for brides…and it’s mainly because of their message boards and bios. Sometimes the boards can be vicious and if you don’t want any of the drama I would just read and not post but they can also be your best resources for finding vendors. In general I also think the D.C./VA/MD boards are some of the most drama-free boards on the Knot.

It’s easy to fall in love with a wedding in a magazine but what about the real world? I love looking at the Knot bios of the brides who are already married (the bios of brides before they get married can be helpful too but they mainly consist of ideas clipped from magazines and usually I want to see real world weddings)

One recent bio really caught my eye. Check out the bio of Brittmurch. Her photographer was the awesome Greg Gibson, reception at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in VA, florist Petal’s Edge, and cake by Amphora Bakery.

We here at Styledash are pretty excited about Aisledash, partly because it’s name rhymes with ours, and partly because weddings, whether you love them or hate them, are still always a great excuse to get dressed up. Of course, if you’re planning on getting married, Aisledash is a great resource for all things wedding.

Sure, Styledash blogs about eco-friendly fashion, but GreenDaily is our family’s first blog dedicated entirely to green living, whether it’s grocery shopping, driving, and of course, our favorite, fashion.

Did Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber manage to secretly wed? Schreiber started the rumor at the Tony Awards on Sunday night, telling Entertainment Tonight, “We are married. You got it first. Break the story!” But it seems Schreiber was pulling a prank, as the couple spent the rest of the evening denying the story. When asked backstage to confirm the news, Watts smiled and said, “No.” Schreiber also said, “Not true.”

Actors Claire Forlani and Dougray Scott were married in a private civil ceremony in Italy yesterday. The bride wore a custom-made strapless gown topped with a Swarovski crystal hair pin and Jimmy Choo heels. Forlani’s father is Italian and recently told an Italian newspaper, “I will be the official cook of the event” at the family’s country home in Pievebovigliana. The couple met through a mutual friend about a year and a half ago and were engaged last September. “They’re both very excited,” says a source of the newlyweds.

Felicity alum Scott Foley married Brothers and Sisters actress Marika Dominczyk in an intimate ceremony on Tuesday afternoon in Hawaii. The couple met on the set of The Help and after three years of dating, announced their engagement in October last year. Foley was previous married to Jennifer Garner.

Canadian actress Neve Campbell and her British actor beau John Light were married over the weekend, as reports last week had predicted. “Neve was married in a small ceremony in Malibu on Saturday,” her rep said. The couple met six years ago on the set of the independent flick Investigating Sex. This is Campbell’s second marriage – she wed Canadian actor Jeff Colt in 1995 but split two and a half years later.

Actress Brittany Murphy managed a rare feat in Hollywood – she pulled off a secret wedding to screenwriter beau Simon Monjack. The pair turned up at the Playboy event at this weekend’s Kentucky Derby sporting wedding rings. “They looked very excited, happy and jovial,” said a witness. “[They] didn’t want photographers to take pictures of their rings because they were waiting to make a formal announcement on Monday.” The marriage is 29-year-old Murphy’s first, although she called off an engagement to Joe Macaluso just over eight months ago.

Expectant couple Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have reportedly decided to tie the knot before their baby is born this summer. “There’s not enough time to plan a big wedding,” an insider told In Touch mag. “They’ll have just 25 guests for the nuptials in her hometown of Sydney, Australia, with a lavish reception for all their stateside friends after the baby is born.” A rep for Watts declined to comment.

Jordana Brewster said that “I thought making Texas Chainsaw Massacre was romantic,” in a recent InStyle Weddings interview. It sounds so strange until she explains in depth about dating one of Massacre’s producers, her fiancé, Andrew Form:

“We started dating in secret �” you know, hanging out in my trailer �” because it would have been unprofessional otherwise. But every day, Andrew wore these work boots to the set, and if I was lying down in the shot or there was equipment in the way, I’d look for his shoes. It was comfortable just to know he was nearby.”

Heath Ledger once again dodged questions about whether he and his baby mama Michelle Williams have tied the knot in a brief interview with Newsweek, though his responses lean towards a positive answer.

Are the reports true that you and Michelle Williams got married? “We try not to talk about it, to keep it our own kind of thing. It’s obviously very sacred. People write stories regardless. The stories haven’t necessarily been bad. So we’re letting people run with their assumptions.”

It’s not like people won’t eventually find out. “That’s right.”

And yet, how will we ever know for sure if you never say anything? “They take photos of us wearing our wedding rings.”

I’ve seen those photos. So I take it that you are married. “You can write whatever you wish.”

Why don’t you just make the announcement now and get it over with? “We’re not ones to announce.”

As the Joker in the new Batman movie, have you tried on the mask yet? “Metaphorically, yes. I’ve been bouncing around like a lunatic for four months. I definitely have a different take on him, but I’ve yet to do a proper makeup run. It’s on the agenda.”

Do you walk around the house all day practicing your laugh? “I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been.”
