Do you want to look hot, feel hot? Or perhaps, you want to get your man’s sexy back? Then you are definitely in need of an aphrodisiac!

The term was derived from the name of the Greek goddess of sensuality: Aphrodite. Basically, the role of an aphrodisiac is to make sex more attainable and pleasurable.

So, if you are ready for a positively orgasmic effect, here it goes:

10. Whipped Cream …

I know, I know… there’s no medical evidence that whipped cream is an aphrodisiac which increases your libido. But just think of all the ‘naughty’ places where you can lick whipped cream off it certainly will get you hot!

9. Chocolate …

The famous Venetian womaniser Giacomo Casanova called chocolate the “elixir of love” and drank a mug of drinking cocoa before embarking on a lovemaking conquest.
DECA DURABOLIN HELLAS

Whether it is the melted variety or the deep, dark chocolate gorging on these sumptuous treats would surely heat things up in bed. Chocolate provides a quick boost of energy, especially for women who produce four times as many endorphins after eating chocolate as compared to the endorphins that they produce after a mind boggling kiss!

8. Oysters …

This is a given oysters physically resemble the female organ, which is probably why some men find them so visually stimulating. Also, oysters are high in zinc so they help improve your lover’s sexual potency. Good, huh?

7. Celery …

Researchers speculate that when you eat celery, you can release the androsterone through perspiration after digestion. Women can’t typically smell this, but some things are sensed subconsciously and women can be attracted to this.
Andry_blogger

Celery contains a male hormone called androsterone which in turn arouses women’s sexuality. It has been liberally used by ancient Romans in their cooking as an aphrodisiac.

6. Peaches …

The appearance of plump, juicy and mouth-watering peaches already provides a highly sexual image. Aside from that, these luscious fruits have vitamin A which in turn produces healthy, touchable skin – the largest erogenous zone in the human body!

5. Banana …

They contain lots of potassium and vitamin Bs for sex-hormones production. So i guess the phrase ‘going bananas’ can also mean ‘getting horny’…
Jeremy Toh

There’s more to a banana being an aphrodisiac than its phallic shape. This fruit contains bromelain which stimulates a man’s libido.

Water retention, heredity, toxin build-up, changes in weather, allergies and health issues – these are just some of the causes of those unsightly, dark circles under your eyes.

Sure, it might be easy to cake on concealers to cover up the area – but you wouldn’t want to end up looking like you have a pound of powder under your eyes, right? Since there are hereditary and health-related reasons behind developing those dark under eye circles – one of the best ways to prevent them from occurring is with the help of a balanced diet and vitamins.

Basically, when you have a diet which is complete in the nutrition that your body needs – there is a lesser probability of having any health reasons which can cause those dark under eye circles.

Speaking of having a balanced diet, you should also make sure to stay properly hydrated and not include too much sodium in the foods that you eat. Salt is the number one culprit in water retention on the body.

Finally, taking vitamin supplements like vitamin K and vitamin B12 may help reduce the dark under eye circles that you are keen on developing. A lack of antioxidants in the body usually causes cosmetic problems to occur, so boost up your strength with vitamin supplements.

I don’t know how many times in my lifetime my mom has drilled to us how important veggies are to our health. Which is a good thing, because I do have this zest for anything that’s fresh and leafy and green – although I do sometimes indulge in meaty delights, too.

But did you know that vegetables are best eaten in pairs? It’s like the vitamins of one particular edible plant complements or brings out the minerals in another. They’re soulmates, the perfect combination – in terms of nutrition, that is.

Here’s the list of ’soulmate veggies’ as compiled by Women’s Health Magazine:

1.	Endive and edamame

This veggie combination is perfect for bone health. Inulin is a substance found in endive which promotes calcium absorption. So when you eat together the calcium-rich edamame with something that helps your body help absorb calcium better – it’s the perfect veggie pairing!

2.	Broccoli and tomatoes

This combination is perfect in Italian cuisine – and initial studies found that they’re beneficial for prostate and ovarian health.

3.	Kidney beans and green peppers

The vitamin C in green peppers helps absorb the nutrients packed in iron-riche kidney beans.

4.	Salsa and guacamole

Lastly, there’s salsa and guacamole – which you can both have in tortilla chips. Research shows that eating salsa with fresh avocadoes help the body absorb 4times the lycopene in salsa rather than eating the delicious dip by itself.

So gorge on these nutrient-packed veggies and enjoy double the benefit that they can bring to your health!

While making a healthy food grocery list, decide for how many meals, you are going to shop. Give a though consideration over the numbers of items, you can afford to serve in breakfasts, snacks, lunches and dinner. Check out the existing stock of low-fat milk, whole grains, cereals and brown rice etc. If any of your family members is following a particular diet chart go through that carefully and add the required items that don’t exist in your regular grocery list.

Fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables should be the largest part of your healthy food grocery list.

“Eat your fruits and vegetables” is one of the tried and true recommendations for a healthy diet.
Interesting health Articles

Fruits and vegetables are good source of minerals, antioxidants and vitamins. Generally, it is good to have at least 5 -6 kinds of fruits and vegetables servings every day to select from. If it is so, everyone in the family will get the food of his/her choice.

Prefer low-sodium soups and sauces. Don’t buy high fat and high calorie ready-made gravies. Don’t load your food grocery list with high calorie desserts and treats.

Most cereal and grain products, you are going to buy, should be made from whole grains instead from refined flours.

The most important benefit of whole grain compared to refined grain is the dietary fiber which is deficient in refined grain. Dietary fiber helps reduce the incidence of digestive system diseases, some forms of cancer, gum disease, coronary heart disease.
Enviroman

This section of food grocery list includes whole grain breads, pastas and breakfast cereals. Whole grain products are considered good source of minerals, vitamins and fiber, which normally lack in fast foods or fast to cook items. To be sure of getting 100 % whole grain or whole-wheat product, go though the ingredient list.

Nuts, seeds, eggs and meat etc are common parts of most of the healthy food grocery lists.

There are suggestions in the literature that consuming omega-3 fatty acids from a fish source can improve heart health and reduce the chance of mortality from heart disease.
Joel

Always purchase fresh and frozen fish and meats. Don’t buy deep-fried ready to eat or breaded meat products because these contain high fats. Frozen foods are convenient and healthy but you should choose only low fat versions. You can also opt for semi prepared meals.

Cooking oils, dressings and condiments etc are essential items for every kitchen.

The oil produced from its olives is used extensively in Mediterranean diets and may be the cause of lower rates of heart disease, atherosclerosis, diabetes, asthma and certain types of cancer in that region’s population.
Josephine

Prefer the dressings made from olive oil, walnut oil or canola oil. For your sandwiches, prefer to get low-fat mayonnaise.

Herbal teas, low fat milk, water and juices are important part of your food grocery list.

Herbal teas provide wonderful health benefits. They calm our nerves, aids in digestion and nausea, helps us sleep and sometimes can ward of headaches.
Healthy Perspectives

While picking up the soft drinks, prefer diet soft drinks and sodas to avoid extra calories.

So, now you are ready to shop with your healthy food grocery list. Try to purchase only listed items and feel the difference – YOURSELF.

I have fond memories of my grandma who had the proverbial green thumb. She had a lovely garden where everything grew – no matter what seed she planted, they sprouted to life, flowered – whatever it is that plants are supposed to do.

When she passed away, I decided to go after her seemingly life-long pursuit of gardening. The problem was, I did not seem to have her green thumb. This is probably one trait that did not run in the family, lol.

Determinedly, I bought these really expensive flowering pots that you can attach on the window-sill. I love salads, so I planted seeds of the herbs and plants that I can use: lettuce, thyme, basil, chives, what-have-you’s.

All I had to do is plant the seed, water the plant and wait, right? But I soon found out that it takes more than that. Not even one single stem of the herbs that I planted sprung to life.

Just when I decided to give up and replace my “garden” with artificial flowers – the basil plant sprung to life. Weeks later, I have literally grown my first herb garden. When I need herbs for my salads, I just reach over the window sill and pluck out whatever I need.

I guess I did inherit my grandma’s green thumb, after all!

If you live in Japan, the best way to beat the summer heat is to cool off with the help of a yellow-colored drink called Unagi Nobori. It’s made from the extracts of the head and bones of an eel. Now, is that interesting or just plain eeeeww-y???

For all the adventurous types out there, eel is actually a seasonal delicacy. The Japanese believe that eating eel will boost your stamina during the hottest season of the year. Also, the Unagi Nobori is fortified with vitamins A, B1, B2, D and E.

If you were given a thousand grand, would you dare drink this famous Japanese eel drink? And guess what? It’s on SALE.

I do love anything that’s on SALE but I would personally think twice before trying out the Unagi Nobori, despite its purported health benefits. So far, the most adventurous drinks that I’ve had are Jell-o shots, lol, none of that exotic stuff for me!

In February, Tarte will be introducing it’s brand new vitamin infused lipgloss, Inside Out. In what as described as “long-lasting, moisturizing lip gloss”, this lipgloss uses Borba’s nutraceutical blend to deliver beauty from the inside out. I wonder what inspired the name of the product. This lipgloss contains acai and green tea extract, grapeseed extract, lychee extract and vitamins A, C, E and K. As for shades, this lip gloss comes in Apple-a-Day, Liquid Sunshine and Om, all of them shimmering shades of hot pink, pale link and nude. I can’t wait to try these!
