Hi girls, it’s fashion picks of the week time… Let’s take a look at what some of the Hollywood celebs had to wear at the hottest social events of the week.

First up, there’s Jessica Biel who had on a stunning silver strapless dress by Oscar dela Renta – which is straight from his Resort 2009 collection. With a body like that, Jessica definitely made some heads turn when she wore the shimmering gown at the premiere off her latest flick “Easy Virture” at the Rome Film Festival in Italy – but her hair and make up did nothing for her face!


Second, here’s Lauren Conrad of “The Hills” looking chic in a navy Alice+Olivia high waisted pair of pants, a black Mike & Chris leather jacket and a white front ruffle bib from Yaya Afalo Garland top – oh, and don’t forget the Chanel bag! I guess if you’re going to get broiled by David Letterman on the show, you might as well dress up for it!

Lastly, here’s Rachel Weisz wearing a Tory Burch Spring 2009 shift dress. She paired it with black tights and a two-toned black-and-white pair of shoes. The tights and shoes did not do it for me – but she still looked pretty elegant.

Tory Burch Tote vs. Steve Madden Bag
As I stumbled upon Steve Maddens’ Perforated Patent Tote, the name Tory Burch jumped into my head. Why, you might ask? Well, take a look for yourself. Both bags share obvious similarities, such as, the same bag shape, both bags also measure in at 17”W x 16” H. You can find long straps attached to the body of the totes by a round gold rivet insertion. You can also find a magnetic snap closure inside both bags for security purposes. Both bear perforated embellishment on its front side; Burch’s tote sports its recognizable reflecting T’s (Burch’s signature logo), while Maddens tote is perforated with some type of symbol I can’t really make out. Of course the most obvious comparison between Burch’s and Madden’s creations would have to be the high-shine patent leather body. So what differences do these two totes have? Burch’s tote comes in a variety of hues, including new color combinations, such as Turquoise on Yellow or Tangerine on White, which will be available soon as they are part of the Burch’s Spring 2008 collection. While, Madden’s tote is adorned with a detachable charm piece. Now don’t get too excited about this bag, because while the name says it’s nylon, I have a strong feeling it’s a nylon/cotton blend, which isn’t quite as resistant as regular nylon. The Tory Burch Nylon Tote is a great bag for travel, or even using as a diaper bag as your child begins to need less things. The gold Tory emblem on front is always chic, and the tonal croc embossed trim is made of leather, adding a bit of richness to this handbag. What does one wear to a Karl Lagerfeld dinner party in Paris? Why, a fabulous Chanel frock. That’s exactly what Rachel Bilson did with her bright pink Chanel dress back in October. Designer Tory Burch seemed to also fancy the sarong-like dress, so she wore it to another Chanel event: the Nuit de Diamants at The Plaza in NYC. Both woman look beautiful in this dress, but I prefer Tory’s shoe choice, so she wins this for me.

Blake Lively was my one to watch in 2008 and here she is continuing were she left off in 2007 wearing a stunning Chanel gown.

She would have looked so much better had she styled her hair. At present it looks like the sort of ponytail you put up when you are going to the gym to work out.

Kate Mara is stunning wearing this Chanel Spring 2007 white embellished 3/4 length sleeved dress with a pair of white peep-toes.

This is why I love Ellen Pompeo. She does not always take risks that pay off, but she will continue to take those risks, regardless if she ends up on worst dressed lists.

I love this look. This Chanel Spring 2007 Couture ensemble is perfect on her and I just love the added touch of the leather gloves.

Selma Blair is the first celebrity to wear Chanel Pre-Fall 2008 on the red carpet.

I do like the dress, but I wish she had worn it off the shoulder to give it more of a sexy look.

Tory Birch is gorgeous in this pink and black sequined Chanel dress. I adore her peach and black velvet shoes and her jeweled clutch.

I don’t know about you, but I’m still honoring my New Year’s Fabalutions �” yay me! Don’t believe me? Fabalution #4: See my Look Book. As seen in this week’s Life&Style, this is the best way to add some punch to your Winter wardrobe. Who says you can’t wear tangerine or lime when there’s a blizzard outside? Not I.

Newlywed Katherine Heigl went furniture shopping in LA yesterday looking casual yet stylish. I admire that instead of throwing on sweats like so many stars, she chose a teal Marc by Marc Jacobs ruffle blouse, a Jimmy Choo bag, and Tory Burch leopard flats. Her sunnies are a little ill fitting, but I’ll get over it because I’m digging the jewel tones in her outfit.

On New Year’s Eve I was driving home to start getting ready for my evening festivities. I couldn’t help but be distracted by the gorgeous sunset that accompanied my peaceful drive. Luckily, like the responsible driver I strive to be, I was able to multi-task and admire and drive at the same time. The sky of pastels had a soothing effect that filled me with hope and happiness going into the new year. And so, my picks this month are a mix of things that make me happy and things I find I simply need to kick the year off with. Nothing crazy, a couple things colorful �” still trying to honor my New Year Fabalutions.

• Ever since I chopped my hair off, I’ve been into barrettes again. These Forever 21 Pyramid Stud Hair Clips ($3) are cute, but tough.
• Spring is on my mind and this Tory Burch Stefani Voile Tunic ($275) gets me revved up for sunnier times.
• I’m still recovering from holiday debt so I’m waiting for this bright and sassy bebe 3/4 Sleeve Empire Sweater Dress ($98) to go on sale.
• Feathers are fun and fabulous. This Elie Tahari Nicolette Skirt ($448) has just the right amount of plumage for a feather novice like me.
• The weather is frightful but that doesnt mean style has to suffer. I’m swooping up these Belle by Sigerson Morrison Black Patent boots (on sale for $195, originally $390), which are perfect for everyday.

Tory Burch knows how to market her brand! She knows about price points, trends, and how to sell to her clientele. This summer I was mesmerized with her metallic silver tote. Every time I took mine out I had at least three women chasing behind me to see where I’d purchased it since we do not have a Tory Burch boutique yet. Now, I’m equally as taken by her Resin Purse which retails for a reasonable $295 at Neiman Marcus, Saks, Tory Burch boutiques, and Bloomies. My latest guilty pleasure is watching Gossip Girl on the CW. It’s a silly little show based in New York’s upper East side with a bunch of spoiled rich prep school kids having a drama filled time. They drink, they party, they sleep with their best friend boyfriends — it’s pretty much a trashy good time. All of those good times aside, the best part of the show is the fashion — hands down.

Blair Waldorf is my favorite character, not only is she a super-bitch but she has the best style on the show (in my opinion). Her preppy pulled together look is one to be envied. Her hair is always perfect and pulled back with a headband and her prep school clothes are just funky enough.

This look here includes a navy blue patent trench from Tory Burch (which is on sale now), a great little tote by Be&D, red tights that you can pick up at Target for less than $6.00, boots by Sam Edelman (I just bought them online last night), and a red headband that you get practically anywhere … but the one pictured is from Shop Intuition.

Another Blair staple is her red heart ring, I found this one at Macy’s for under $200.

And now that we’re in the market for a new winter coat, our fave show is providing inspiration again with an abundance of cute outerwear. We’ve got the girls’ looks for real — and for a steal!

Blake rocked Ever’s Los Feliz leather hoodie jacket, $715. Unfortunately, you can only get it in black, as the red was created especially for the show. Or get the look for less with this Lux Stay Golden Bomber, $128.

Here we go again, with another well worn dress. We have had the black with silver detail Alice + Olivia dress, the Tory Burch black sequined dress and the Juicy Couture dress now we have the Dolce & Gabbana polka dot dress.

This dress was first worn by Molly Sims to the Dolce & Gabbana Charity Auction to Benefit The Art of Elysium a year ago. She wore her dress with a leather jacket and black peep-toe sandals.

Rose McGown was next to wear this dress to the ShoWest Awards. She wore her dress with a sexy pair of nude pumps.

Nearly 6 months after it was first worn, Denise Richards wore this dress to the “Ratatouille” LA Premiere, with a strking pair of red patent pumps.

Last night, a year on from when this dress was first worn, Mischa Barton wore it with a hideous pair of Keds, to the Keds Spring 2008 Ad Campaign Party in New York last night.

For me Denise wins this, because of her shoe choice and Mishca is by far the worst by teaming her dress with a pair of peep-toe Keds.

What a coincidence! I was just saying how much I love blondes in green and another blonde, LeAnn Rimes, showed up to an event at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan in a green dress by Erotokritos. The jeweled neckline and pleat detailing make the dress a standout. I love her fusion of a very feminine dress with masculine patent lace up pumps. Oh, and Paris, this is how opaque tights are done.
