Dom Trapp a designer from Nice in the South of France (lucky him) invited me to be linked with him at Linkedin the other day. Off I went to take a look at his profile and found his company Human Touch and am I pleased I did. Look at those gorgeous Boo Sketch Books – I want a shelf full.

All her stationery is personalized, but don’t think you have to limit yourself to just your own name you can put in whatever name or phrase you want and they will print them up. You could design a label with “Your Name & His Name” or “Your Last Name & His Last Name” and send them out on your wedding invites. Shipping labels are $30 for 23 so it would be an easy way to jazz up a boring outer envelope.

I’m still a little undecided on whether or not to do favors, but I was thinking of doing the boxes with green wrapped Lindt Lindor truffles which are in my colors so the green would show through the white lattice work. Plus people could have a favor they could eat. The boxes are $70 for 50 which isn’t too pricey. They have a few other styles, as well as some really colorful flower favor boxes that I think would look really fun and whimsical all lined up. Those are half off…only $30 for 50.

I love the look of Coach’s Tattersall pattern on things like stationery and wallets, but I’m not really drawn to the Bleecker Tattersall Travel Tote. Its got a lazy, dull look about it – maybe it’s the fact that the pattern seems to just wash away on such a large bag. The colors aren’t especially striking. It’s definitely more functional than stylish, and that can be great for those who carry lots of books and other knickknacks (though I wouldn’t fill up this fabric bag too much). I’m not impressed. Available for $398 at Coach.

Although a guide to your ceremony is not a must for your wedding, programs have become increasingly popular as of late. Like many other parts of the wedding stationery, you have full creative liability here. Generally the program should be in the same style and form as the invite, save the date card, directions, and any other part of the stationery trousseau. The program should start by listing the bride and groom’s names as a title of sorts. Underneath include the wedding information: the location, date and time.

Next list the order of the service (circling, sharing of Kiddush cups, rings and vows, etc), the names of the wedding party (the best man, maid of honor, bridesmaid, etc) and the names of the parents and grandparents.
If you are having musicians at the ceremony it’s customary to list them as well. Brief bios of the wedding party, vows, readings, a favorite love poem, songs, explanations of traditions, a monogram, your new address, directions to the reception, and a thank you or remembrance are all additions to the program. I recommend to avoid cheese, leave out any photos.

After you have decided the text of your program decide what form the program will take. A small one page booklet is the most traditional but anything goes. Small booklets tied with pretty ribbons, pull out accordions, flat postcards, long bookmarks, flip books, popsicle stick fans, and fan booklets are all wonderful artistic options. Speak with your stationer well in advance to figure out the design of the program and be sure to proof read the invite several times and check the spelling of names with everyone mentioned. To cut back on costs have the stationer print only the cover to your program and create a document on your computer to fill the rest of the pages. Decide whether each person will be handed a program or simply one for each couple and family.

I personally love the mini booklet idea because it can easily fit into a purse and the bows are so pretty. What about you? How was your wedding program designed?

How do I stumble upon these perfect little things? It’s in the stars I swear! Yes, I do have one of these Mermedia “Fab” notepads, $7, sitting at my desk. I picked one up at a recent shopping event along with a little notebook with a similar water color-esque illustration on it that reads “Must Shop” on the cover. These were Fab at first sight. There’s more cuteness where this came from so check Mermedia out. As well, this is a full-service graphic design/website design/corporate branding firm so if you have a fashion-oriented business and need some design services keep them in mind or pass the name along!

I’m a girl of many skills :) but simple things like picking the right greeting card takes me for ever… I always end up sending a boring ‘feeling guilty’ e-card :(
I truly believe Design-her Gals was thinking about me (and you) when launching the customized stationery concept: innovative invitations, note, cards, announcements, recipe cards and calling cards.
“Design-her Gals is the one-stop shop for most all of your gift-giving needs. With a few clicks of your mouse, you can create stationery for almost everyone on your list…
Giving someone custom-made stationery shows a lot of thought (much more than the gift certificates that you usually give). It also saves you a lot of time, money and frustration involved with searching for these gifts. Also, ten percent of proceeds year round go to the Gal to Gal Foundation, which funds Stage IV Breast Cancer. Research and Awareness…such a great cause!”

eBelle5 the bag blog Date Added: November 2, 2006 Free Hello Kitty Tote | View! Dear Hello Kitty Fans, Neiman Marcus is celebrating Hello Kitty’s (*shhh 32nd*) Birthday with a Freebie Party Favor: A hot pink and white canvas logo tote and stationery set, yours for free with any Hello Kitty jewelry or watch purchase. What’s inside? The tote contains a Hello Kitty stationery set including two note card patterns with matching envelopes in a clear plastic case with a matching Hello Kitty pen. Cute. I’m not quite sure when the Hello Kitty handbag toting age limit cuts off, I mean really most would assume it to be during the young-teen years, lord knows I wont be caught with one, but we all know that 25 year old Paris Hilton still hasn’t retired her case. Chat about this purse post in The Bag Forum [...]
