Louis Vuitton Spring 2009, Lil’ Parisienne Princess

Louis Vuitton is more than just a monogrammed label: it’s a lifestyle and a fashion statement.

At the Spring 2009 Louis Vuitton collection held at the runways of Paris just recently, Marc Jacobs called the show reminiscent of a Little Parisienne princess. Which is completely and utterly brilliant.

From the obi-belted dresses and suits to the glittery sweaters and wide legged pants, there is definitely something here that every woman would die to have, unlike other collections which seems to be only suitable for the Gossip Girls or SATC cast.

Here’s the lil’ Parisienne princess look from the LV Spring 2009 collection:

Stella McCartney Spring 2009 is “Effortlessly Sexy”

Edited by Tania

More than just being the daughter of ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, Stella McCartney has already carved a name of her own in the fashion industry. At the young age of 15, she was already working under Christian Lacroix.

When her Spring 2009 collection was showcased at the runways of Paris, we didn’t expect anything but the best from this designer. Her clothes are clearly a celebration of everything that a woman’s body has to offer. She’s definitely a master at cool-chic styles and designs.

Karl Lagerfeld Spring 2009 – A “Blurring” Look

Edited by Tania

If you will ask designer Karl Lagerfeld about what the word ‘blurred’ means – his answer would be that things are not always quite as they seem.

That’s exactly Karl Lagerfeld’s theme for the Spring 2009 collection which was showcased at the runways of Paris. If you’re a lover of black-and-white fashion, you will more than have your fill of it.

Futuristic body jewelry, geometric cuts and ‘futuristic’ pieces were the other highlights of the collection. Is the designer trying to blur the lines between fantasy and reality?

Judge the collection for yourself.

Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 Offers Metamorphosis

Edited by Tania

“It’s about a metamorphosis. There’s a big change going on in these times,” said designer Giambattista Valli. No, he’s not talking about the economic crisis (although he might as well have been).

What he’s referring to is the look for his Spring 2009 collection which was shown at the runways of Paris just recently. On the front row are young fashionistas including Emma Watson, Natalie Portman and Caroline Sieber.

Does the line up at the front row seat ‘metamorphose’ to the youngness of Giambattista Valli’s collection?

Check out pics from the collection below, and judge for yourself whether it’s for the hip and young crowd:

“Black & White Magic” Yohji Yamamoto Spring 2009 Collection- Paris Runway

Edited by Tania

Picture this: models with windswept hairdos wearing large, dark Hollywood glamour sunglasses. Add to that the uber-glamorous black suits and ivory dresses.

What do you have? The Yohji Yamamoto Spring 2009 Collection, which graced the runways of Paris recently.

Yohji is part of the trio of Japanese designers ruling the fashion industry, which includes Issey Miyake and Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo. But as compared to the other two designers, Yohji is the most playful designer – and black and white are the predominant colors in his designs.

Check out pics from the collection below:

D&G French Fashion Spring 2009 from Milan Fashion Week

Edited by Tania

If you’re looking for something that’s subtly chic, don’t watch a D&G runway show.

At the recent D&G French Fashion Spring 2009 collection which was shown at the Milan Fashion Week, the designs of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were fun, chic, unabashedly sexy and unapologetically flashy.

NY Fashion describes the D&G look well:

Devastatingly sexy, fetishistic designs and a characteristically Italian aesthetic; every collection would look at home on the set of a Fellini movie.

Check out what the collection for yourself and tell us what you think:

“Sex, Lies and Volleyball” Spring 2009 from House of Holland

Polka-dot tops, flower-printed skirts and jackets, Levi’s jeans with circular laser cutouts. Sounds like something from a couple of decades back? Not really. These are the items from the House of Holland Spring 2009 collection.

The designer’s theme was 80’s and 90’s inspired, though. According to Henry Holland himself:

It’s all about Beverly Hills, 90210. I bought a box set of the first series—1991, not the new one.”

Okay, so we should expect Brenda, Brandon, Kelly and Dylan-like costumes in the collection, right?

Let’s all check out the collection.

I can definitely see the 80’s influence in this first outfit. The silhouette of the sheer, floral-printed pair of pants is something that we’ve seen a lot in the past runway shows for NY Fashion Week. And talk about bold! That black-and-white polka dot shirt’s all the fashion statement that you need.

Todd Lynn from New York Fashion Week

Edited by Tania Fedio
U2, The Rolling Stones, Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love and P.J. Harvey – these are just some of the bigwigs in Rock and Roll that designer Todd Lynn has dressed.

At least, he used to be. In 2006, his menswear collection was launched and it showcased the easy, dark and beautiful rock and roll cool that his music industry heavy hitters have long appreciated.

Will we see similar themed clothes on his Spring 2009 collection? Check out what the “music industry’s well-kept secret” has in store for us:

Todd Lynn did a lot of eye-trickery for this collection. Check out this first outfit – it looks like a shorts-suit but it’s actually just one whole piece which looked layered.

Luxury, Sexy Spring Fashion with Donna Karan from New York Fashion Week

Edited by Tania Fedio

From the minute that Queens native Donna Karan launched her first collection in 1984 – the label already had the makings of a sensation. Her designs have evolved from the “Seven Easy Pieces” to a softer, more luxurious, cashmere-centered look in the following years.

NY Fashion describes the Donna Karan look as “Body-hugging jersey dresses, often adorned with big statement jewelry or elaborate belts.”

Let’s see what the famed designer has in store for us in her luxurious, sexy Spring 2009 collection which was showcased just recently at the NY Fashion Week.

Donna Karan herself dubbed the show as “Liquid Assets” – and this loosely draped dress really does look like liquid silk – and the color is absolutely gorgeous!
