Think Taylor Swift and I bet you think of all things girly, pink and pretty, which is why it’s hardly surprising that this Taylor Swift prom dress is all that and so much more!

What’s so Fab about It: The girly ruffles, the tiers and the tulle! Also, I’m glad that the dress is in black and white. Any other color would just make it too busy. All in all, the dress makes me wanna twirl like a little girl, and that does not happen very often!

Where would I wear it: Actually, I wish I had this dress for the New Year’s party I went to this year. It would have gone perfectly with the retro theme of the night. But alas! Maybe next year with a belt, pretty satin peep-toes, luscious red lips, and dreamy curls for that added drama.

French shoe brand Repetto celebrated the launch of its Repetto Foundation last night, and model Jessica Stam was among the fabulously dressed guests. Usually, the mix of metallic and ruffles has the potential to be a fashion tornado, but Jessica manages to look playful and chic in her Zsa Zsa frock. I’m glad she understood that the dress is loud enough to keep the rest of her look simple: A black patent clutch, black patent pumps, and antique drop earrings did the trick.

You all had mixed feelings about Ali Larter in this charcoal grey ruffled hem dress. I thought she looked hot but that’s just my opinion. Obviously she’s not the only daring vixen who likes to show some skin – here is Minnie Driver in a black version. While Ali chose to let it all hang out underneath, Minnie is doing the ‘ol visible bra look. I have to say you really need a perfect bod, a la Ali, to pull of this deep dip on top, high dip on bottom ruffled tank dress. Who do you think wore it better? Either way, you gotta give these gals props for taking the plunge! Also, does anyone know who designed these mystery dresses?

Fab Flash: Collette Dinnigan Resort Collection

A slew of models were at the Sydney Airport recently, but this time, they weren’t there to catch a flight to a fashion show, because the catwalk was already there waiting for them at the Qantas First Lounge. Australian designer Collette Dinnigan showed off her latest Resort collection at the first-class lounge and some gorgeous swimwear, nautical-inspired and ruffle pieces were showcased.

You may be wondering why Collette chose the Sydney airport as her venue. Turns out, the creative director of the airlines, Marc Newsom, is her good friend. This was the first time in two years that Collette showed her collection in her hometown.

Twinkle, Twinkle, you’re a star, dress of the day, today you are.

I love this Ruffle Sleeve Tunic Dress from Twinkle by Wenlan for the subtle paradox it is. With short little ruffle sleeves, modest to-the-knee length, and slightly assymetrical hemline, the dress is sweet. However, if you look closely at the black-on-cream-print, you’ll see that the nature scene is pixelated into a digital ladnscape — futuristic! I’m thinking shoes that are just as paradoxical would work best here. A sweet round toe, with a fierce stiletto heel.

Look of the Day: Lady in Red (Purse)

Let’s give it up to Zeldaf for being such an adorable, unfussy and fashion forward Lady in Red (Purse)! Even though Zeldaf expressed that she’s iffy on the white color-blocking, I think it works quite well, especially since the eye catching Marc Jacobs handbag directs most of the attention away from the white and on to the red. I also adore the the ruffles and pintuck detail on the blouse; such a good mix of feminine and masculine!

Life & Style Weekly shows how to do it with ruffles. Just make sure they’re not placed on any of your hot spots (e.g. if you’ve got big hips, don’t wear a ruffle up high ~ grey skirt below is a ‘no’ for you.

Maybe it’s that we were screaming for the Super Bowl yesterday in sweltering conditions. LA, y’all, has been in the 80s, so I am all over light, airy dresses like the “Vivienne” by Tocca. The off-white dress is made from a blend of cotton that is features metallicized cotton threads throughout. The button-up placket has tiny tuxedo ruffles, giving the dress a feminine look that is emphazised with a tiny fabric tie at the waist.

The dress is $374 at Nordstrom.

Dress of the Day: J. Crew Black Ruffle Shirt Dress

If you’ve been anywhere near a clothing store in the last few weeks, you know that pretty little Spring fling things are hitting the shelves. However, the weather, even here in LA, is most definitely not appropriate for a bright yellow sundress (and if you ask me, no weather is appropriate for a bright yellow dress). We’ve got at least a month of wintry weather, and sweater weather beyond that.

I’m tempted, y’all, to start shopping the resort lines, but I’ll resist. I suppose it isn’t that difficult if the dress is a silk twill pullover shirtdress with button-front closure and ruffle embellishments at the collar and cuffs from J. Crew. I never thought that they’d actually start using the term, but this dress does indeed have “bracelet sleeves,” and falls to a just past modest midthigh. This is part of their Spring collection (the dress is unlined), but with a slip underneath and a jacket on top, it can pass for January.

The dress is $175.
